RECIPROCITY – UNDERSTANDING GIVE AND TAKE
There are 58 Intuitive Learning Circles in Gifts from the Rainforest. Each one represents and transmits the healing medicine of a plant, animal or nature spirit that lives in the rainforest.
In this tutorial, we’re going to learn how we can use the Intuitive Learning Circles to train our ability to direct and control our personal energy to manifest our highest good!
Organizing Principle of the Intuitive Learning Circles: Use Your Energy Effectively.
You can use the Intuitive Learning Circles to practice how you’re using your energy to create better outcomes, however, your intention, whatever it may be, cannot be completed until you have followed through and taken action in the real, physical world.
That’s why whenever I really want to accomplish something, I spend time with #14, River Otter. That’s because River Otter is a Master of cause and effect, reciprocity and knowing how to have fun while doing it! He knows that no matter how difficult life gets, things are not as bad as they seem.You can bring fun into doing almost anything.
Let Otter give you a quick lesson in reciprocity.
Gaze into the Circle and imagine that Otter is there with your Soul, coaching you with a smile. He wants you to know that good-natured fun comes from the sheer joy of doing things just for the pleasure of doing them. Take away the have to’s, should haves and second guessing!
Step One: Centering.Get present in your body. Use your breath with Otter’s Circle to gather up your energy and awareness into the central area of your solar plexus and heart. This is your potential energy or life force – what some people call chi’, mana or life force.
Practice this step alone to improve your balance and self-confidence.
Breathe into it. Eventually, you’ll feel a ball of potential energy to fuel your objective and be able to hold it!
Be sure to do that both crossed over the midline of your body and uncrossed.
Organizing Principle:The Golden Mean.
Otter knows that “what you put out come back to you” is an essential principle to master if you want to create the preferred karma and good will needed for true prosperity and happiness.
Step Two: Self Awareness. Let Otter help you examine what kind of energy you’ve been sending out into the World. Soften your gaze at his Circle, and ask yourself:
“At the moment, what am I putting out?
Am I being positive? Negative?
Am I being too extreme?
When I send this life force out, is it splattering all over the place? Do I know where or to whom that energy has been going to?”
Whatever you’re putting out, is that what you would like to experience in return? Consider for a few moments how what you’re putting out might be related to what you’ve been experiencing. What has been coming back to you?
Step Three: Focused Attention.Now let Otter help you change your experience for the better. Place the words ‘focused attention” in the center open space of Otter’s Circle. Then, consciously bring your full attention to those words, until you have a clear focus on them. Next, you may ask yourself what you would like your attention to be focused on. Once you have the words that express your objective, place those words into the center open space and bring your attention in on them.
Especially if it feels like your energy is scattered, use the Circle to aim your energy clearly and directly into the center.
Step Four: Reciprocity – the Game of Taking Aim.Now you’re ready to play target practice by engaging with the center of the Circle like a bull’s eye. Wait until you can sense clear, direct energy coming back to your center. It’s like playing a game of ball, whatever you toss out to the bull’s eye in Otter’s Circle, he will toss it back to you and you can feel it in your gut!
Practice with this for a few minutes to improve your concentration and control over how you use your energy.
Now check to see what happens when you add the intention of having fun. While you keep playing with it you’re learning how to consciously direct your energy toward a goal and align multiple objectives with each other. This creates unity of thought and an improved sense of direction!
Even better, if you want to change what you’re putting out, you can practice with Otter before you actually go out into the world and do it. What other things might you prefer to experience? Confidence? Courage? Trust? Joy? Clear communication? Try adding them one at a time. Keep throwing the ball back and forth until you get a good flow going. This “game of taking aim” increases your stamina, enriches your intentions and is the essence of reciprocity.
What else can you learn from Otter? As you can see, this fun little game is a great way to re-align your goals if you’ve been having trouble with that. Maybe you have a project you’re working on that just never seems to line up or fit together. Take each component of the plan one at a time and add them to the center bull’s eye until you can get that reciprocal back and forth going.
If there’s an aspect of your project that just won’t go into the center, it’s a good indication that something about it needs to be reconsidered or let go of entirely.

Summary: If you send out negative energy that scatters out in a lot of different directions, you get a lot of scattered, negative energy back. If you send positive, focused energy out, you get clearer, more positive energy back. If your intention includes things like fun and gratitude, what you get back is even better!

What Process Is Best for Me – Right Now?
Many of you have asked, “There’s so many Games and Exercises here in the Intuitive Learning Circle – how do I know which one is right for me?
Since we’re here to help you develop your intuition, it’s only natural that we would come up with a simple & fun way to decide – using your intuition!
First of all, it’s true that we have quite a few self-healing offerings, so below you’ll find a list of games that will help the Snake in you shed her old skins.
There are 5 categories to choose from ~
I: Cosmos II: Family III: Environment IV: Livelihood and V: Self
Each category has a selection of games listed underneath which are numbered 1, 2 and 3.
The first step is to take a moment and think about what’s going on for you and then look at the Snake Totem and ask your heart:
“What category would be most useful for me to look at now?”
Once you have the category number, ask yourself: “Which number in that category represents the best self healing process for me right now – or is the best place to start?”
Remember to take the very first number that comes to you, because that is your Inner Wisdom speaking or your intuition. If more than one number comes up, write them all down in the order they came to you.
Once you have your number, scroll down the list and check out that process. You might be surprised at what you chose, because intuition doesn’t always makes sense at first. However, I suggest that you trust your first response and explore the exercise anyway. See if it pertains to your situation and feels right.

Communicating With Moderation In the New Paradigm.

First – Evaluate Your Situation for Signs of Shock or Danger
Let’s face it. The past few years have been filled with one extreme and jarring piece of news after another. Shock is something that we deal with every day. It’s important to give yourself and others a break by realizing that you might be stuck in a survival pattern because you’ve been listening to so many shocking communications.
If you are overwhelmed by how someone is communicating, it’s very likely that you’re experiencing SHOCK from some past or present form of DANGER.

Welcome to the I Ching Reading and Transformation Game for: Hexagram #29 Danger and #15 – Moderation
“In times of difficulty and danger, it’s usually best to move with the flow of MODERATION, Hexagram #15, where ‘The predominant forces … are in the process of balancing extremes and harmonizing interests.’

Following the flow of MODERATION as the best way to make progress amidst chaos. The suggestion is to disengage from confusing extremes or opinionated attitudes and instead, follow the guidance that comes from within so that balance can be re-established. In almost any situation, if you are able to travel on the middle road between extremes, there will be improvement in whatever you undertake.
Communicating Through Moderation Puts You In a Different Flow of Energy ~
As a general rule, MODERATION is the most sensible flow to follow, especially since so much karma is playing out in the wake of our political and social unrest. Contradictory mindsets have been fully activated and must be dealt with in one way or the other.
Just to clarify what we mean by karma here – Karma = Cause & Effect I have a thought. I make a decision. I act on the decision. Whatever I have followed through on has natural consequences. Cause & Effect. Karma.
Most people are navigating through one or another of these general karmic patterns:
Getting sucked into a negative malaise of mental, emotional, physical or spiritual decline.
Stuck in a gridlock of hatred or rebellious refusal to change.
Getting scattered or revisiting survival patterns from the past, or
Pulling themselves together into a centered position of empowered authority.
Initial Evaluation:As you softly gaze at this Circle, see which of these patterns you are currently experiencing. Ask yourself:
“Am I generally experiencing pattern #1, 2, 3 or 4?”
It could easily be a mix, depending on your mindset and what stage of the karma you’re living through.
Continue to relax into yourself for a moment or two while you contemplate the answer you get.
Regardless of what’s happening, you can make your life easier by letting go of old patterns, agreements or communication karma that’s ready to be transmuted. This game will help you do that.

Let’s Begin By Calming the Stress in Your Nervous System.
Your nervous system and your ability to communicate are intricately interrelated. Use this Circle for homeostasis to gently collect information about your nervous system and what will help to calm you down.
“I calm down and relax into the rhythm of my Soul.”
Take another few minutes to breathe deeply with the intention of coming back into rhythm with your Soul. Listen to your heartbeat and slow down. Let all that external noise from the outside move out.
If you’ve been in traffic, shopping at the super market or watching television, know that your nervous system takes all that in – and often doesn’t know what to do with it.
It would probably help for you to move around, stretch – or make circular movements until you feel your tension releasing. Take all the time you need with this.
Restore your sense of Self with this Circle. Gaze at it softly and remember an activity that you’ve always liked – probably something creative that brings you joy. Relax into it or keep moving if you like.
Does a particular color come to mind?
If you can make it stronger, that’s the color that resonates with your Soul!
Soulful, creative activities help you to get back into your Center and being in your Center is a big help to communicating with moderation.
“I know who I am and I know what’s important to me.
I am learning to communicate through the energy of my Soul.”
If you like to sing, tone or hum, this would be a good time to enjoy them.
We recently transitioned from the Year of the Tiger to the Year of the Rabbit. You may be going through quite an adjustment because of that or other things. Bring your body back into balance by consciously breathing in on the count of three and slowly exhaling on the count of five. It’s helpful if you can breathe in through your nose.
Do that three or four times while you gaze softly at the Circle.
Continue breathing and bring your awareness to your tailbone. What communication do you need to get in balance about?
Let Go of Harmful Karmic Agreements.
Now that you know what you really need to communicate about, Use this Soul Contract Circle to help you release social, familial or religious contracts that are harmful or would pull you out of integrity with your Soul.
Gaze softly at the Circle and imagine you can send a cleansing violet flame up and down your spine while you use the affirmations:
“I release any agreement that says I’m powerless about what I communicate or how my Soul wants me to do it.”
“I free myself of other people’s expectations. What my Soul wants to communicate is important.”
“I communicate my needs and priorities clearly and calmly.” “I am communicating with care, compassion and _____________.”
Don’t Forget to Let Go of Your Old Agreements with the Status Quo.
The old paradigm was a system built on extreme greed and exploitation enforced through oppressive social, religious and moral contracts. Most of us are still operating out of them to one degree the other because they’ve been wired into how we go about doing our business.
It would be wise to release our agreements with that system and set up new agreements in the New Paradigm that are generative and life affirming. This won’t just happen on its own. We need to be proactive and intentional if we want to move out of extreme communications and behavior.
“I let go of my agreements to stay stuck in or comply with harmful communication patterns from the status quo.”
“I release agreements to communicate through manipulations of the old status quo.”
(shame, blame, inequity, deceit, greed, prejudice, intimidation, hatred, contradictions, dishonesty, co-dependence, etc.)
“I decide to reorganize my communications around simple principles of co-operation, equity and sustainable prosperity.”
“I release my agreements with contradictory, pushy behaviors
that pull me into chaos, violence or no-win situations.”
“I choose to align with the calm, generative flow of MODERATION
and Divine Protection.”
Invoke Protection and Clarity of Mind:
“I close down all harmful energy channels from the old paradigm.”
“My mind is open and clear to receive generative life force.” “I utilize the element of Air to effectively communicate and manifest.”
Let Go of Intentions That You Don’t Need Anymore.
Check your old intentions with family, friends or business relationships that interfere with your ability to communicate more effectively. Release dishonest or extreme forms of communication like coercion, intimidation or hypocrisy. Think about old jobs or organizations you’ve been involved with – religious institutions, political agendas, educational systems, ways of doing business, etc. You don’t have to hold them up or support them anymore!
“I let go of out-dated or harmful intentions about ___________.”
“I let go of harmful intentions that other people may want me to fulfill.”
To replace them, consider carefully what new intentions would actually serve you now. Do they need to be clarified, simplified or re-organized? What do you need to have happen for yourself? “I need to ____________.”
Decide to Stop People Pleasing.
The desire to fit in at any cost is one of the most fundamental ways we do harm to ourselves. This desire can often be so extreme, we put ourselves at risk by leaving ourselves wide open to unscrupulous people who are willing to exploit us.
“I decide to respect and have faith in myself. My worth does not come from my family or other people’s opinions of me.”
“I decide to follow the middle road, based on inner guidance and self-worth.”
“I decide to __________ while I’m communicating with moderation.”
Stop Taking On Other People’s Karma.
In times of increased confusion and chaos, it’s common for people who want to avoid responsibility to systemically dump their problems and karma onto whoever will accept the blame.
If you’ve been trained to feel anxious when other people are unhappy, you might trap yourself by taking on more than your own karma. You can clarify this with the next Circle by asking these questions:
“What is my karma in this situation? What am I actually responsible for? How can I set things right in a way that’s actually helpful?”
“I let go of my karma to mistake other people’s karma for mine. I am clear about what karma is mine and what karma belongs to others. I let go of the temptation to repeat unpreferred karmic patterns.”
“I utilize my own karma to manifest _______________.”
When we try to handle other peoples karma for them, we are inadvertently complicating things by preventing things from working themselves out naturally.
To help you avoid this trap and set things right, use this symbol with the affirmations to release attachments to survival patterns from the past:
“I let go of attachments and obligations.” “I detach from fearful, sticky or toxic energies.”
Like a healing balm, imagine that a loving coat of peace and comfort is pouring down over you!
You can also get some help smoothing out CONTRADICTIONS and other jarring energies with this Key:
“I remove reversals and jagged energies.”
“I have a clear and direct connection with my Soul, my resources and my own karma.”
Get centered and reorient yourself appropriately. These positive affirmations will help:

Dissolve the Blueprints of Harmful and Extreme Communications.
Use this symbol to identify any mental, emotional or spiritual patterns that are keeping you attached, pulling you back or holding you down. See them dissolve completely as you surrender them to the Light:

Close the door on holes or pathways that lead back to poor or extreme communications. Take all the time you need. There are probably a lot of them.

“I let go. I stop communicating through abuse, manipulation, cruelty or violence.”
Close the doors both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.
Congratulations for Communicating with MODERATION on the Middle Road! You probably feel much more balance. Go back to the Initial Evaluation for the game and see what’s changed.
Now that you’ve made choices about the flow of moderation you can bring order and new happiness into your environment!

The situation is stagnant, heavy and toxic to you in some way. Perhaps you are clinging stubbornly to an idea that poisons your life or relationships. Turn away from isolation and open your heart.
Making excuses for yourself or your behavior does nothing to rectify the situation. Just because things didn’t happen the way you wanted them to does not mean that other people are to blame. Blaming yourself is even worse. Whatever happened, the reason for it is much larger than your ego will ever grasp.
Trust that you will be all right. If you are having difficulty forgiving, try giving to others who are in need. Holding onto resentment makes you small. Giving uplifts the Spirit and transforms the heart.
Don’t cling to “being right” or how you’ve been wronged. Keep moving without dwelling on the past and find a different response. Recognize the beauty and growth that is available, even in difficult situations. There is more to the power of forgiveness than you know.
