I Ching Workbook - R. L. WingThe original intent of the I Ching was based on an Eastern philosophy of observation and marking changes in natural and human events. Through many centuries and contributions from shamans and master teachers, including Lau Tzu and Confucius, the Book of Change was developed into a full philosophy for applying beneficial human conduct to varying circumstances. The Art of Feng Shui is part of that philosophy.

Gaining a Larger Perspective on the Current Flow

The I Ching energy has been in a flow of DANGER since the middle of May, fueling a variety of energetic tornadoes and poltergeists that are having very strong effects on all levels of our experience. Unfortunately, the collective mindset of CONFLICT and chaos has gone on for so long that we continue to be in real DANGER. The morass of the old paradigm has completely deteriorated and is gobbling up every spare bit of energy and attention it can find to keep itself afloat.

As a result, the I Ching Energy of DANGER remains strong through the 28th of June and will continue on past that into the heat of midsummer.

Be aware that during this time multiple factions of the collective will aggressively attempt to hijack your personal intentions and the energy you send to them. The negativity of the old status quo will do anything to survive and you may not want that to happen at your expense.

Keep a watchful eye on your own thoughts, prayers, intentions and attention.

Are you tapping into obsolete and outmoded intentions that are hate filled or harmful to your well-being?

Are you being unconsciously drawn into a conflict that isn’t in your best interests?

Are you on track with your own priorities?

This is an unfortunate time to be pulled into the fray because there’s so much collective karma wrapped up in the multifarious escalating conflicts. If you try to rescue, fix or have confrontations over things that are beyond your responsibility, you risk making the situation worse by getting caught up in the frenzy. If that were to happen, your own karma and energy could be diverted to create more conflict, chaos and DANGER.

Slow down and think about it. There are other ways to help without sacrificing what’s genuinely important to you.

As Kuan Yin has repeatedly referenced, “Know what you want, know what makes you feel good about your Self, know what brings you into harmony with others. These are your guidelines and principles. Other factors that assume control of your behavior or your health or that create inner discord are the obstacles that must be overcome. Be firm, unemotional, gentle, and clear in annihilating them and thereby reforming your Self and your environment.’

“The situation is one of real DANGER, caused by and manifested in the affairs of man. This DANGER is not inspired by overwhelming tendencies within the cosmos, or by conflicts in your innermost attitudes. The real DANGER that confronts you is brought about by your immediate environment. It will take skill to overcome the difficulties, but managed properly, this time of challenge can bring out the very best in you. The Chinese text points out that if you can act with confidence and virtue whatever you do results in success.

Do not avoid confrontations in any difficult or threatening situations; you must now meet and overcome them through correct behavior. Maintain a continued resolve. Hold to your ethics and principles and do not for a moment consider compromising what you believe to be right. Acting with integrity and confidence is the key to surmounting the DANGER.

In business or political affairs, stick to approved policy. When making judgements regarding matters of leadership, neither bargain with your principles nor attempt to avoid the issue, for such actions would render meaningless all that has been achieved thus far. In social interactions, remain true to your nature. If possible, convince others of the soundness of your ideas by demonstrating the good effects of your actions. If they will not support you, you do not need them. Keep moving. Do not dally in the DANGER. In personal relationships, do not allow passions to lead you into peril. If the difficulties cannot be resolved without sacrificing your principles, the relationship may be irresolute…

2024 is the Year of the Yang Wood Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac.

Positive Qualities: Energetic. Confident. Ambitious. Intelligent. Generous.
Challenging Qualities: Unstable. Intolerant. Lack of persistence. Unrealistic.

The Dragon’s Feng Shui Mandala below can give you a sense of what the archetype of the Dragon is about and how it may influence you. If you’re interested, gently contemplate its center and relax. When you’re ready, ask yourself these questions and journal the answers that come:

“What is the most important thing I can focus my energy and effort on during this time in the Year of the Dragon?”

“What is the direction? Why is that important?
How can I utilize the energy of the Dragon to my best advantage?
Are there things I’m wasting time on? Something else I need to know?
Is there something important for me to do?
If so, can I tell what it is and how I would best go about doing it?”

What Is the I Ching Remedy for Navigating Danger?

The Flow of Hexagram #15 MODERATION is the most advantageous flow to follow when navigating DANGER.

Kuan Yin - Finding ModerationThe ancient Chinese text recommends following MODERATION to help you disengage from confusing extremes or opinionated attitudes and instead, follow the guidance that comes from within. That flow might be difficult to find, however, it’s always available.

She says, “In almost any situation, if you are able to communicate without resorting to extremes, you will find improvement in whatever you undertake.”

4. Stop Negative Thoughts that Keep You Stuck.

The Japanese word Reiki describes different types of healing and spiritual work.

What might be possible if you were to make a new agreement with your Higher Self that you are ready, willing and able to receive genuine help and support in accordance with your highest good? I suggest that your agreement include being respectful in your requests and appreciative towards those who help you.

Most importantly, make a Soul Contract with yourself to be kind and patient with yourself and to get more comfortable about asking for genuine help as you continue your Reiki journey. Would you be willing to sign your name to a contract like that?

#5 Remember to Follow Your Soul’s Intention.

Blame and Responsibility

Whose Problem Is It? Sorting out Blame and Responsibility in Relationships

In today’s society, it’s common to pass the buck by putting the blame and responsibility on others or deny that a problem even exists, especially in dysfunctional or co-dependent relationships. 

When that happens, responsible people tend to get thrown off balance. If you’re one of those people, you believe in dealing with problems, rather than ignoring them or unloading them onto someone else. After all, if you own it, you can solve it, right? Under normal circumstances that would be true. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way if the problem you’re worrying about isn’t really yours to solve.

This simple game is for you if you tend to take on blame and responsibility for others to your own detriment. Especially during these times of upheaval and reorganization, it’s essential to clear out all the confusion without making it only your problem. We can find more balanced ways to come up with solutions together. 

Use this mind exercise when you are:

  • SOS for Blame and Responsibility
    SOS Symbol

    Not clear where your responsibility lies in a given situation

  • Pressuring yourself to solve someone else’s problem
  • Lacking energy for your own projects
  • Aware that someone is overly dependent on you
  • Wanting to change the dynamics of blame and responsibility in a relationship
  • Being used as a scapegoat or dumping ground for negative energy.

Directions: Confirm this is the best exercise for you with the SOS symbol.

If your efforts to solve a problem are causing you to become overwhelmed and frustrated, follow the directions for each step of this game and watch how your perspective changes! By playing, you’ll get to the bottom of what’s going on and receive constructive guidance on how to effectively come to a solution, at least for yourself.

You’ll probably feel some energy moving while you go through the exercise. That’s all right, because it means the Circles are working with your mind to unlock a fixated pattern and help you get some positive answers to your dilemma.

Once you’ve completed the game, your energy will be more your own and you’ll have a much clearer idea of what’s actually going on, including what to do about it.

Whose Problem Is It?

1. While looking at this Circle, think of a problem or plan that‘s bothering you.
What is it specifically that bothers you about this situation?
Have you experienced this problem before?

Mind Body Integration

Mind Body Integration For best results, look at each symbol both crossed over the midline of the body and uncrossed so that the correction is more complete.

Feel free to move at anytime in any way to help you embody your experience!


2. Answer “yes” or “no” to these questions about what’s happening:
“Is this my problem?”
“Is it a projection that’s coming from elsewhere?”
“Is it something I’m projecting on myself?”
“Am I projecting this problem onto someone or something else?”

If you are dealing with any projections, you can use this Circle to help you burst them, just like a bubble or lots of little bubbles.

After all, projections are just illusions and don’t really exist, so why waste your precious time and energy on them?

 

3. Continue answering “yes” or “no” to these questions about your true relationship to this problem:
“Is this my problem?”
“Is it a problem I’m taking on for someone else?”
“Am I obsessing or worrying over something that I have no control over?”
“Is this just a troublesome habit that I keep rerunning in my head?”

Additional questions you can ask yourself:
“Am I taking what others say and do (or don’t say and do) personally?”
“Am I being respectful to myself in this situation?
How about being respectful and understanding of others?”
“What is my part in this situation and how can I handle it?”

 

4. How is this problem affecting you?
If it’s having a negative affect, release any unconscious agreements you may be holding. You can change them by imagining you can tear up old contracts or burn them up in a violet flame like these:
“I release the agreement that I don’t matter or that I have no choice in this situation.”
“I release any unconscious agreements to be rigid or keep repeating harmful habits.”

Replace those agreements with some new agreements:
“I respect and take good care of myself.”
“I exist, and what I say and do matters.”
“I decide to express my needs and cooperate with others in finding genuine solutions.”
Are there any other agreements you would like to change or update?

 

5. It could be that you’re tapping into a recurring pattern of control or traumatic stress that’s blocking positive energy.
Relax into this symbol and imagine you can close up destructive energy channels between you and all that negative energy.
“I close down all harmful energy channels from the past.”
“I close them down because they aren’t helping anything.”

Next, open up to more hopeful and beneficial energy.
Gather up your newfound awareness and imagine you can plug it into the center of this symbol for improved communication.
“I am open to receiving generative life force available to me in the present.”
Take a few minutes to feel more centered with more positive energy flowing through you, both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

 

6. Now it’s time to turn your attention towards possible solutions to the problem.
Make a choice to be in charge of your decisions and how you respond to this problem:
“I am in charge of what I do in this situation.”
“What new decisions do I need to make about myself?”
“What decisions do I need to make about others?”

“What decisions do I need to make about this situation?”

If you feel stuck, use the Circle to unstick and remove mental obstacles from your thinking process so you can do your best in this situation.
See if you can get all the gears in your mind moving together.

 

7. In order for you to be more objective, dissolve any mental or emotional blueprints that may be contributing to the problem.
Gaze softly at this symbol and allow the patterns to dissolve like dark clouds hanging overhead:
“I dissolve the blueprints for internalizing and taking on other people’s problems.”
“I release the patterns of confusion or putting too much pressure on myself.”
“I dissolve my tendencies to project problems onto myself or others.”

Take all the time you feel you need for the patterns to dissolve into pure sunlight and clear, blue skies. Feel free to move around until the heaviness is completely gone.
“I release the fear of failure and being too hard on myself.”

Please note: Never send destructive energies into the Earth, she already has too much to handle now. Use the Earth for planting seeds of health, happiness and life – not illness, unhappiness and death!

 

8. Take a few minutes to look at this Circle for courage and determination. Imagine that you can surround yourself with a sphere of protection. These affirmations will help:
“I am protected and in charge of my own space.”
“I allow others to be in charge of their own space and handle their own problems.”
“I can easily deal with my problems with courage and determination.”

Are there any aspects of your Essential Self that need to be encouraged to take care of this problem with respect – both for yourself and for others?

The Essential HumanRedirecting how you’re using your own energy is one of the most powerful ways to solve your part of the problem.

If you have a copy, use The Essential Human manual to help you make simple corrections. Ask for numbers between 1 – 42 and make corrections to each number chart in the order they come to you.

 

9. What does your heart want to tell you about this situation?
Keep looking at the Circle and ask yourself this question until you hear a clear answer.
“My heart is telling me to ________________________.”

Old Soul

Let that quiet voice of your intuition give you answers to simple questions.
Include the basics like, who is involved? What is going on? Where is it happening? When is it happening? Why is it happening and what is its purpose?
What and how would I best respond to this situation?

 

10. Take a few moments and see yourself letting go of other people and their problems.
“I surrender other people’s issues, karma and emotions.”
“I send them to wherever they need to go to heal.”

Once that feels complete, call back what ever belongs to you.
“If I own it, I can resolve it. I call back my resources so that I can set things right.”

 

11. Now it’s time to get centered and ask yourself this question:
“What is the most important thing I can do to take care of myself?”

Take the very first answer that comes to you, then place your answer in the center of the Circle like a bull’s eye.
Imagine you can send your attention and energy directly to your answer and then allow the energy to return to you.
Do that for several rounds to start a new pattern.

 

12. Finish the exercise by asking your Inner Wisdom for some good advice:
“What will help me to follow through on making
a positive difference in this situation?”

Congratulations! Being realistic about whose problem it is and what you can actually do about it is often the missing piece to coming to a resolution.
Now would be a great time to relax and contemplate the advice you have given yourself. Take a walk if you can to help you integrate your thoughts.

Setting Clear Boundaries for a Busy Mind

Setting Clear BoundariesWhat can you do to help yourself when it feels like someone or something has “gotten under your skin”? Without clear boundaries, thoughts and emotions can pass back and forth between people without their awareness. When left unchecked, this type of attachment can go underground and contribute to sudden and mysterious illnesses, mental confusion, issues with prosperity or chronic states of overwhelm.

It’s a valuable skill to know how to close the doors or energy pathways at will. This Mind Exercise can help you learn how to consciously set clear boundaries and close off those pathways.

This visual meditation from our SOS Resolve Ebook provides a quick framework for recovering mental balance and refocusing attention. Going through a quick  “game” calms the emotional centers of your brain and opens up new neural pathways for self-awareness and clear boundaries, which significantly reduces stress and increases clarity.

Mind Exercises for Clear BoundariesFind a quiet place if possible, where you won’t be disturbed for about twenty minutes. Follow the sequence of symbols while you read their accompanying instructions. Gaze gently at each Circle for about two minutes. A longer or shorter time may be necessary. Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible. Don’t worry if the images move around or change in any way. That just means the Circles are working and that your mind and body are relaxing.


Mind Body Integration

Mind Body IntegrationThe brain and body communicate through different channels when a part of you is crossed over the center of your body. Therefore, you will want to look at each Circle both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

If you feel resistant or stuck, cross or uncross a hand or foot over the midline of your body and go back to the Circle, breathing patiently. See if your thinking starts to move again. Let negative self-talk go by breathing through it Just breathe deeply and relax.


After you’ve finished going through the entire exercise, give yourself some time to let it integrate. A quiet mind and light heart will change your perspective and make it easier to accomplish your goals.

 

Step 1. Balance

Begin by consciously breathing in on the count of three and slowly exhaling on the count of five. Do that three or four times while you gaze softly at the Circle. It’s helpful if you can breathe in through your nose.

Continue breathing and bring your awareness to your tailbone.

 

Step 2. Calm

Keep breathing with your belly soft and relaxed.
Let your shoulders drop.

Gaze softly at this Circle and imagine you can turn down the feelings or thoughts that are turned up too high, just like the volume on a radio.

 

Step 3. Centering

See if you can gather your awareness and connect it – like all the lines that come together into the center of this symbol.

Imagine you can close up unhealthy energy channels between you and all the noise that’s coming from the outside.

Stay with it until you feel more centered with beneficial energy flowing through you.

 

Step 4. Protection

Now, gaze softly at this Circle and use it to close all holes or harmful pathways that have been left wide open.

“I close the pathways that lead to distractions, disturbances and interference.”

“All holes are sealed and healed.”

“I follow the direction of my Soul’s protection.”

 

Step 5. Beauty

Now that the pathways are closed, you can shift your attention away from the negative and turn towards more positive input. Breathe in again and exhale slowly.

Take your time and let this Circle help you call the most majestic scenes into your mind that you can imagine.

Notice how your body responds and relaxes into the experience.

 

Step 6. Expansion

Turn your attention to your breathing again and how calming it is.
You can sense the steady rhythm of your heart.
The gentle expansion and contraction of your lungs.
Breathing in and letting go. The space around you is relaxing too.

Emotional Calm

 

Step 7. Letting Go

There may be some especially sticky energies that don’t seem to want to let go. Let this Key help you neutralize interfering energies and detach from them.

Like a healing balm, imagine that a loving coat of peace and comfort is pouring down over you.

Step 8. Intention

Now you’re ready to gently turn your mind to what’s in your best interests. What are your true priorities?

Slow down and take your time.

 

Step 9: Grounding and Coherence

This Circle will help your energy get organized and grounded. Put both your feet on the floor, place your palms on the inside of your knees and keep breathing until you feel planted.

Then, visualize a wheel spinning out any discordant energy that’s still hanging on and causing problems. When you can release excess energy, it’s much easier to think more clearly and feel like yourself again.

 

Step 10. Compassion

Imagine with each relaxing new breath that you can fill your heart with renewed understanding and compassion – that includes caring for yourself with clear boundaries.

 

Step 11. Decision

Your well-being is important. Are the any new decisions would you like to make about it?
Here’s a few suggestions:

“I decide to be loyal to myself.”
“It’s okay to have strong and clear boundaries.”

“It’s genuinely joyful to have a quiet mind and a light heart.”

 

Step 12. Resolution

Make a commitment to stay centered and true to yourself.

“I keep my own energy contained for my own protection.”
“I easily eject and deflect harmful thoughts, interference or expectations.”

“I resolve to create and maintain clear boundaries.”

 

Step 13. Nourishment

Before you get on with your day, see if there’s any helpful nutrition that would support you. Let this Circle help you tune into natural healing energy.

Are there any vegetables, fruits, herbs, teas or other healing foods that come to mind? Anything else?

 

Step 14. Completion

Finish by closing any remaining openings to the noise and distractions of the external world.

“All holes are sealed and healed.”
“I follow the direction of my Soul’s protection.”

What does your Soul advise you to do now?

Congratulations! Now that you’ve finished, give yourself some time to let it integrate. A quiet mind and light heart changes your perspective and makes it easier to accomplish your goals.

This mind exercise has been put together to help us stabilize and get support for our lower bodies and more “feminine” energies through the First or Root Chakra.

Our root chakra governs the physical body, our instincts and the assumptions we have about life. Its color is red and is located at the bottom or root of your pelvis. Free flowing energy in your 1st Chakra is essential to generating healthy life energy and having a strong connection to Mother Earth.

Root Chakra - Reiki Chakra KeysGaze softly at the Root Chakra Key, then ask yourself:

“Do I have a strong foundation for creating physical health?” 

“Am I able to maintain a stable connection with the Earth?

If not, can you pick up any impressions as to why that might be? You may want to make a note of what comes up.

“Am I having trouble finding support for my projects?”

“Am I generating creative or destructive fire?”

Are violent or abusive experiences interfering with my health or vitality?

Look deeply into the Circle and consider the people, the places and the organizations that could be affecting you in a negative way. Those relationships may not be over, but surely they are going to change! Free up your energy with this Circle by letting go of those agreements.

Release sub-conscious agreements to hold space for dangerous or violent energies. Clear out destructive entanglements that contribute to illness and low energy. See completed debts, vows and resentments burn up like old contracts in a beautiful, violet flame.

You may want to surrender your involvement with a  project,  a person, an organization or a special place that’s no longer serving your needs. Surrender it by releasing that Soul contract into the fire.

When these chakras are unified and communicating with each other, it’s possible to access deep seated cultural and religious agreements that keep our bodies enslaved to the status quo.

“I detach from destructive foundations and energy patterns.”

Integrate your new foundation with your Essence at the Third Chakra.

It’s important that your foundation get integrated with your “home base” template located in your Solar Plexus Chakra.

Completion – Rest and Restoration

This Completion Tutorial for the Power Circle will help you accept the Natural Flow of Activity and Rest, which is especially important during the Winter season.

Happiness Power CircleKuan Yin has been co-creating with us to find a peaceful way to manifest our goals called “The Power Circle of Happiness – Ten Stages of Natural Physical Manifestation.” This process has been inspired by Reiki, Tibetan Energy Work, Feng Shui and Hawaiian Huna, to help those of us those who truly desire to experience the abundance and joy of surrendering to the flow of creativity or “happiness”.

The purpose of each Stage in the Power Circle of Happiness is to illuminate how you can be more in the energy flow of Happiness in any situation and use the natural cycles of Life together with the true nature of your Soul to create your heart’s desires.

In this Completion Power Circle, you’ll get examples of some of the common pitfalls that could be interfering with your ability to manifest happiness…


STAGE 10: Completion – Acceptance of the Natural Flow of Activity and Rest

Before we move into a busy New Year, filled with externally driven agendas and intentions, it’s essential to allow time for rest and restoration. If you are feeling drained and tired, it might be helpful to consider how important it is to let go of any guilt or anxiety you may be feeling about it.

You have a genuine need to follow your own natural cycles. When you allow time for completion and rest, you are proactively preventing burnout and break downs in your immune system.

Completion and Rest Prevents Burnout

Stop. Slow down. Let go of the Guilt.

We are not separate from Nature. Our health and ability to manifest depends on how we handle the final Stage of Natural Physical Manifestation that we’re calling COMPLETION in the Power Circle. The mid-winter season between Solstice and the Lunar New Year is naturally a time of COMPLETION. Learning how to come into sync with the cycles of Nature is a big piece of how we can help ourselves and the planet.

Here are Tips for the Completion Stage from Kuan Yin and the Reiki Guides that explain why rest and acceptance is so important to the success in your upcoming year….

Tip #1 – ALLOW TIME TO REST
In our modern world, there’s a notion that one must be forever moving forward. This is reflected in the unchanging mechanisms of seconds, minutes and hours in a clock. “Time marches on,” “time waits for no man” and other such mantras give one the impression that they are missing out on something if they stop to rest. In fact, the opposite is true.

If you accomplish something important and do not stop to rest and center yourself, you are actually sabotaging yourself. This is because your energy has a natural process of re-organizing itself around changes in consciousness. If you do not get present and allow time for this, you cannot change and are stunting your own growth.

Release agreements about putting so much pressure on yourself and any other unhealthy agreements about time. 

“I stop fighting against or feeling guilty about my natural cycles.”

“It’s okay to be both active and receptive. I keep myself in balance.”

“I release unhealthy pressure and agreements about time. When I stay in the present, my Soul can be in charge of timing.”

“I release agreements to beat myself up because my body is having a natural  response. It’s okay to be tired and feeling whatever I’m feeling.”

“It’s okay to process and integrate the changes I have gone through.”

Tip #2 – ACCEPT THE ROLE OF BOTH YIN AND YANG ENERGIES IN THE MANIFESTING PROCESS

Balance & EqualityMasculine energy (Yang) is result oriented and serves us well in accomplishing our goals. However, in our society we tend to have a drive behind our work that often puts us into conflict with others and ourselves. The Completion stage of manifestation can give us guidance on how to extract the beneficial aspects of this drive and learn how to use them in a balanced way.

Once you have completed a project or a stage of a project, let your receptive Feminine energies (Yin) gather and do what they do best, which is to process. It’s important to rest, clear out the energy around that project, focus your thoughts on what makes you happy, and come to a place of peace before you begin the next stage or project. Allow your entire being to honor what you have accomplished and integrate the changes that have taken place as a result of all your efforts. If you have attended to the Stage of Completion and accepted where you are, your Psyche will be able to restore itself and will naturally open to new inspiration.

Tip #3 – CLEAR OUT THE ENERGY FROM PROJECTS OR GOALS YOU HAVE FINISHED
Being tired is most often looked upon as indulgence or a sign of weakness. Very often, there is also a sense of fear or anxiety around the concept of resting. Perhaps there’s a nagging idea that somehow you’re going to miss out on something or that you’ll appear lazy.

Actually, being tired is a natural and necessary response to having completed something. If you will allow yourself to feel tired, your body will naturally begin a shedding process. You may describe this as feeling sluggish, foggy, heavy, sad or possibly even a little dizzy. These are all beneficial, because they are the processes through which your body can clear out debris from the old consciousness you have now transcended.

If you’re having trouble letting go, you may want to make sure that you’re not taking on or perpetuating someone else’s issue about procrastination, over-achieving, perfectionism or poor self-esteem with Whose Problem is It? Even if the issue isn’t yours personally, you’re using up your own precious energy trying to process it, which may very well be causing a serious blockage for you.

Tip #4 – FOCUS YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY
This process gives your mind time to integrate the changes that have taken place and decide what you like about them and what you want to continue or discontinue.

Completion

In essence, you are creating an opening and groundwork for a new cycle of inspiration. If you continually think negative thoughts about what you’re unhappy or dissatisfied with, you are digging yourself into an even deeper karmic cycle of dissatisfaction and unhappiness.

If you’re feeling emotionally down and apathetic, you can gently Retrain Your Mind to Go for Joy.

Tip #5 – COME TO A PLACE OF PEACE
This idea is very important, because it releases worry and allows acceptance of what is. Complete transformation is not possible without acceptance of what you’ve done, what you haven’t done and what is left to do.

If you haven’t allowed yourself to completely rest for a long time, your body will force you to take time through illness, accidents or your mind will simply become blocked.

It’s useless to become frustrated or struggle against the completion stage of manifestation. Doing so will only create more blockages. The best plan is to surrender, let yourself slow down and be still. Allow the process take its course.
