How to ADAPT and Come From a Grounded Place in the New Paradigm ~

Many of us are aware that our environment has a lot to do with how well we’re feeling and how easy or difficult it is to come from a grounded place. That’s especially so when we need to communicate or move forward in a genuinely productive way! The energy of the Cosmos is changing radically and we are being called to ADAPT to a new paradigm based on common ground.

If you feel like you or your environment are:

  • Ungrounded
  • Overwhelmed by too much stuff
  • Disorganized and confused
  • Unstable, unsafe or explosive
  • Juggling too many things
  • Unproductive – going around in circles
  • A magnet attracting negative energies.

Directions: Confirm this is the best formula for you with the SOS Symbol.

Find a quiet place to sit in the center of your space, where you won’t be disturbed for about twenty minutes. Make sure both of your feet are firmly planted on the floor. Begin by reading the first message and then gaze gently at the Circle or chart that goes with it for approximately two minutes. A longer or shorter time may be necessary. Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible. Don’t worry if the images move around or change in any way. That just means the Circles are working to help you and your environment to come into balance with each other and ground.

Some emotions may come up and when that happens always visualize the heaviness moving up, out and towards the Sun. You may intuitively feel that an object in the space should be moved or removed completely. Trust your instincts. Give yourself permission to let go of anything that could keep you stuck in the old paradigm.

Feel free to cross or uncross your arms whenever you intuitively feel you need to!


It helps to know that you can close down many harmful energies that may be running rampant through your body, mind and space.

Divine Protection

Keep this symbol handy to help you identify and close down life-destructive energy channels from the old paradigm. Keep in mind that those energy channels could be found within you or in your space.

Once they are closed, you’ll find that it’s much easier to clear your mind and be open to the generative life force (chi) that we look for in Feng Shui.

In Chinese, Feng Shui means wind water. These are the two elements that move energy for creating life when they are in balance. When they’re out of balance, they can create all kinds of destructive energy patterns – poltergeists, sudden reversals, collapse of protection and stagnancy – just to name a few. Needless to say, the energy channels from the old paradigm are very much out of balance and are creating quite a bit of instability for everyone.

The bottom line is – the sooner we can come from a grounded place in the New Paradigm – based on common ground, the better!

Once you’ve finished going through the entire exercise, take yourself for a gentle walk in nature or have a soak in a hot bath with Epsom salts or Sea Salt. It’s important to make sure that you’ve cleansed yourself.


Connection
  1. Begin by relaxing while you softly gaze at this Key. Use the following affirmation:

“I choose to relax and open up to my true potential.”

 

Presence 

2. Take some more time to breathe deeply.
Pay special attention to those places in your body where you are feeling pain or discomfort.
Consciously send your breath to those places and let them relax.
Stretch if you need to. Open and close your hands. Notice the time and the space around you.

“I am fully present in the New Paradigm.”

Scroll back up to Divine Protection and take a few moments to consciously close down any harmful energy channels in your body or your space. Do it both crossed and uncrossed.

 

Receptivity

3. Ask for peace and harmony to come into your heart and awareness.

Consciously move your energy out of your head and pull it down into your heart and solar plexus area.

Old Soul

Once you feel the shift, close down harmful energy channels again. The more relaxed you are, the better this works.

 

Balance

4. You don’t need to be perfect or be everything to everyone.

Could you be holding onto something that doesn’t belong to you or open to something that’s not yours to fix? If so, resolve to let any baggage go and send it to the Light.

You are responsible for yourself and only your part of the situation. What is your part? Shut down any energy channels that are irrelevant or distracting you.

 

Coherence

5. What you do matters and it’s important that you take good care of yourself.  Focus your energy on getting grounded. When you get grounded, you have a positive effect on those around you.

“I pull myself together and get grounded.”

What makes sense to do? What would be genuinely helpful in this situation? Is there something you can do to be genuinely helpful to others?

 

Nourishment

6. To do this effectively, you need a strong connection to a generative life force. You need to take care of yourself and able to ask for help. Go back to your heart and listen to it beating – nice and steady. Affirm to yourself:

“I call on my Spirit to help me get in balance.”

“I am connected and aligned with my highest good.”

Take all the time you need with this.

 

Self-care

7. What else do you need to help you take good care of yourself?

Make a list so you can remember.

 

Change

8. Do you have old intentions or agendas you need to change? You can find them by examining your life and asking yourself, “what’s been working and what hasn’t been working?”

Are you willing to let go of things that are not working?

Release any agreements to hold on.

“I’m willing and able to let go and make the changes necessary for me now.”

 

Realization

9. Keep looking at the Circle while you relax and think of something that you love very much.

Have you been jeopardizing things that matter to you? If you have, what can you do to set it right?

Make note of the ideas that come to you.

 

Clean Up

9. Use this Circle to sweep any confusion or clutter out of your mind and send the debris up to the Sun. In your mind’s eye, sweep it all away!

Notice how much better your body feels when your mind gets clear.

 

REDIRECT

10. Imagine that your Spirit can gently take you by your heart and head. Let it turn you around – toward the direction of your highest good.

Allow a generative flow of life affirming energy to circulate through your body.

 

DECISION

11. Use this Circle to help you close the door on all that clutter and confusion.

Choose to close the doors and seal the leaks as if they were never there.

You probably feel much clearer now.

 

Inner Guidance

12. Take some deep breaths and move your body around again. Let your shoulders drop. Listen to that calm, gentle voice that comes from your heart. What is it telling you?

Old Soul

 

New BeginningS

Allow a calm feeling to move through your heart and fill up your entire body – all the way to your fingertips. Clear the way for a new beginning.

 

Closure

13. Gaze at this symbol and close harmful energy channels that may still be open from all ten directions of the Feng Shui Grid: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest – above and below.

“I close down all harmful energy channels.”

Repeat all directions with this intention: “My mind is open and clear to receive generative life force.”

Remember that the need to unify in common ground is real! The changes are taking place over time and you will likely need to do this exercise repeatedly. Take yourself for a gentle walk in nature or have a soak in a hot bath with Epsom/Sea Salts to cleanse yourself.

How Emotional Balance Can Help You Move On With Your Life.

Emotional BalanceUnhealthy emotions are like toxic sludge and few things are more destructive to a person’s wellbeing than those that come out of unresolved pain from early childhood. Is it possible to get “unstuck” and find emotional balance as an adult?

Take a very common example in the young child of a couple going through marital problems. This could very easily happen to either a boy or a girl, but we’ll use a young boy in this case.
Let’s say that Jessie walks in on an argument that’s going on between his parents. Immediately, he knows that something’s wrong, but when he asks, he’s told not to bother them and go upstairs.

Since he doesn’t know what it’s all about, his imagination comes in to fill in the blanks. The wound is further compounded when Jessie’s parents withhold from him by not letting him in on what’s really happening. Perhaps they think that he’s too young to understand, or that it doesn’t matter. They say to themselves, “he’ll forget all about it in a few days.”

What they’re ignoring is that children are nearly always aware that something is wrong and when it’s not explained in terms they can understand, they will find their own explanation.

If left in the dark, Jessie could start internalizing the experience and decide that he’s unworthy of his parent’s love or somehow to blame. If he does that, he’s likely to act out by misbehaving or putting up a false show of toughness. When Jessie’s parents see his behavior, they might feel either guilty, angry or both – which causes him to feel more and more insecure and the “stuck” emotional pattern is firmly established.

Of course, these kinds of patterns can get imprinted or reinforced in numerous ways later on in life.

The following mind exercise is for when a stuffed or stuck emotional pattern has re-emerged and you’re ready to do something about it. It also is good to use when you:

  • Are feeling distressed or conflicted about what steps to take 
  • Ready to gently bring up emotional conflicts so they can be be resolved
  • Want to let go of emotional programming from early childhood
  • Are frustrated or angry with events that are out of your control
  • Are letting other people’s feelings or beliefs interfere with your objectives.

It helps to remember that you are not your emotions. You are bigger than they are and you don’t have to let them run you! Doing so is a choice that you can change at any moment by making a new decision about them. For example, you could decide that the emotions you’re feeling now are just energy patterns and not solid things.

Did you know that it’s possible to gain some emotional balance by simply relaxing? Very often, when you can relax your energy, the “stuck” energy pattern begins to shift and let go!

You can use these affirmations and the Circle to help you:

“I decide that I am bigger than these emotions.”

“I am in charge of how I experience these emotions, not the other way around!”

“I decide that letting go and relaxing are okay – even helpful things to do.”

Of course there’s more to it than just that, and yet, every stage of our personal growth has to start with the decision that we want something better. Hopefully, going through this mind exercise will help you get started on your way…

MIND BODY INTEGRATION

Feel free to move at anytime in any way to help you embody your experience!


Step One: Whenever you want to find emotional balance, breathing always helps. Start by gazing softly at the Circle and breathe in on the count of three. One…two…three.
Exhale to the count of six. One…two…three…four…five…six.
Do this as many times as you like. Breathing in and letting go. 

“I relax and let the tension go.”

Imagine that the “stuck” emotions you’re dealing with are like a huge iceberg. Visualize it melting, moving and breaking apart. Feel your energy relax! Continue until you feel a palpable release of tension.

 

Step Two. Keep breathing with your belly soft and relaxed.
Let your shoulders drop.
Gaze softly at the Circle and imagine you can turn down the feelings or thoughts that are turned up too high, just like the volume on a radio dial.

 

Step Three: Now you’re in a better position to see if you have any stuffed emotions.  Repeat what you just did with this symbol from The Essential Human:

What is the message that I’m getting from this emotional pain?

Use the affirmation below to help you bring emotional balance to the situation: 

“I release my need to ignore or escape from emotional pain.

I now acknowledge its message and use it for my greater good.”

Be sure to follow the directions both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

 

Step Four: Repeat the same process to see if you’re holding any stuffed conflicts. You can use this affirmation:

Am I holding stuffed conflicts?

“I release my focus from conflict to peaceful and prosperous solutions.”

Imagine that any conflict is breaking apart. If you’re having trouble, imagine sending a beam of light directly to the image, completely dissolving any resistance you feel.

 

 

Step Five: Is there anything else that’s bothering you?

Try to put it into words if you can.

 

Step Six: Can you name the particular emotional pattern that’s throwing you off balance? Remember that you may be picking up emotions that other people are feeling.

 

Step Seven: Is there an underlying problem involved that’s affecting your chakras?

Step Eight: As you gaze gently at this Circle, let your unconscious mind gather up all the pertinent information, so that over time, you can get this sorted out.

 

Step Nine: Gaze softly at this symbol (let your eyes relax) to help you connect with Love. Get spiritual guidance, direction and bring yourself into position to receive your highest good.

Ask yourself three questions:

  1. Am I heading in the proper direction to receive emotional balance?
  2. Am I positioned correctly to receive help?
  3. What spiritual guidance do I get in regards to this situation?

The Essential HumanStay with it and contemplate the symbol for a few minutes to help you make corrections and gain further insights. For example, you may need to recover aspects of yourself using The Essential Human.

Choose numbers between 1 -42 to make corrections and find emotional balance.

Be sure to dissolve any destructive blueprints that you’re ready to let go of. Imagine those old emotional patterns are like clouds disappearing into Sunlight.

“I relax and let them go.”

 

Once you feel clear, be sure to close the door on old emotional channels of pain.

“All holes are sealed and healed.

I follow the direction of healthy protection.”

 

Congratulations! You’ve successfully interrupted a pattern that has probably been interfering with your emotional balance for some time! Be sure to take a few minutes for yourself now. Stand up. Move around. Take a walk in nature if you can. Being out in nature is the best!

As time passes, you will find that opportunities for healing will begin to make their way to you.

Healing Emotional Shock

Any person who is going through serious loss could experience emotional shock.

The symptoms of emotional shock are disorientation, numbness, mental confusion or fragmentation. A person may even disconnect and leave their body. This includes people who are witness to traumatic experiences in some way. 

These are all ways that the unconscious mind protects us during a traumatic event:

  • Feeling stuck, numb, lost or helpless
  • Unable to rest or relax
  • Caught in a blank or fixed state of mind
  • Waking up at night worried, with obsessive thoughts
  • Reliving painful experiences
  • Alternately feeling trapped and shattered.

The following mind exercise uses the Intuitive Learning Circle method for healing emotional shock ~

Emotional ShockRheanni Lightwater - Resolving ShockSometimes people who’ve just received bad news or experienced a traumatic event will tell you that they’re fine and not to worry about them. That’s because one of the main symptoms of being in shock is not being aware of being in shock. Why is that? During a shock, the mind goes blank as a form of protection.

The shock response is natural and not a sign of spiritual, mental or emotional weakness. It is a physiological event. Nevertheless, if the person doesn’t get a chance to get grounded in their body again – or if they’re not able to – serious problems may develop. Blocked energy and a constant state of fight or flight takes its toll over time. Statements like: “I can’t think straight,” “my life was shattered” or “I feel disconnected” describe the experience of emotional shock.

If any of the above seems familiar, you can go through this mind exercise step by step to help you access your own innate healing abilities and bring yourself back into balance.

Simply follow the directions and see if you can free up some of the confusion and conflict that comes from shock. Here’s an example of how it works. Simply gaze softly at the Circle while you contemplate each of these positive affirmations:

“I reclaim and balance my five senses.”

“I focus them to be present and aware of my body.”

“I use them to become aware of my environment and what’s important to me right now.”

“I focus on positive actions that benefit my well-being and happiness.”

Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible. Don’t worry if the images move around or change in any way. That just means the Circles are working and that your mind and body are relaxing.
Be sure to go through the entire formula and at the end, give yourself time to rest and integrate.


Healing Emotional Shock and Confusion

Step One:

Take several deep breaths and relax while you look at this Circle that releases shock and inner conflict.

Imagine you can use it to focus in on a conflict or painful experience that’s blocking your way. If your mind is blank, focus on how “blank” it is. You may get a conscious image or message, or you may not.

Once you have a sense that your mind has found the blockage, imagine that it’s like an iceberg and the Sun is melting it away with a beautiful beam of light. Allow it to melt until it’s completely gone.

Check for other blockages or conflicts that you can do the same with.

Step Two:

The next step is to bring your senses into balance so that you can see and hear things without the distortion that often accompanies shock.

As you breathe deeply, let this Circle help you to adjust the volume and pitch of your senses to just the right level for you.

Soon you will be able to hear that “calm, gentle voice” inside that reminds you about what matters the most to you:

“I see things as they really are. My senses are balanced. I reconnect with what matters the most.”

Step Three:

If your gut feels tight or uncomfortable, use this Circle to help you relax in your solar plexus and get back into balance there. Your solar plexus is that soft place in your belly where your ribs go up. Just take a nice breath and feel it relax as you say to yourself:

“It’s safe. I feel safe and more relaxed with every breath.”

Step Four:

Sometimes a person who’s had an emotional shock will be disoriented and feel a bit “out of their body.” In case that’s happening with you, take a few minutes to consciously bring yourself back into your body.

“I am at home in my heart. I am inside myself.”

You can open and close your hands. Move your fingers and wiggle your toes around. Notice the time and where you are. These actions all help you recover from emotional shock.

Step Five:

The next thing is to make sure you’re grounded. Without proper grounding, you could get frantic, distracted and confused. That’s not what you want. What you decide to do matters now more than ever!

Let this Circle for grounding on the Earth help you. Place both feet on the ground and your hands on each knee while you use these affirmations:

“I uproot whatever is confusing me. I decide to get grounded. The Earth supports me.”

Take all the time you need with this.

Step Six:

Oftentimes, healing emotional shock and confusion requires a change in priorities. There may be certain plans, ideas or habitual patterns that are no longer relevant or constructive. Certain roles may get suddenly reversed. You can use this symbol for dissolving destructive blueprints to help you identify them and dissolve whatever is confusing you.

Actively imagine that the negative patterns in your mind are like heavy clouds or a jumbled maze of fears and nightmares.

Once you have the image, bring the pure light of the Sun in and dissolve the maze completely.

You’ll know that you’re done when you can see yourself standing in a beautiful open field with clear blue skies all around.

Step 7:

Be sure to seal and heal any holes, leaks or openings in your energy field. Leaky energy may open you up to danger or allow harmful energies to attach to you. It can also leave you feeling drained and exhausted.

As you gaze at the Circle, imagine harmful leaks and openings are closing as if they were never there.

“All holes are healed and sealed.”

“I follow the protection of healthy direction.”

 

“I close up any energy drains so that I may recover my strength.”  

“I let go of old habits that are causing me harm.”

 

Bring your attention to the area that surrounds your body.

“I strengthen the protection of my auras around me.”

“I feel protected and safe in my body.”

Step 8.

To finish this exercise, let your heart recover. This Circle will help you to balance your heart energy and clear away any residual heaviness. Breathe deeply and take your time.

“I feel the heaviness lifting up out of my heart.”

“I let it go and send it to the Sun where it can be transformed.”

“I have the strength and resilience to shine my light.”

Now that you’re finished with the exercise, consider taking a nice walk outside. Nothing grounds you like being in nature after an emotional shock.

Use this self-care formula when you are:

  • Exhausted 
  • Overwhelmed
  • Confused
  • Out of balance
  • Taking on too much
  • Doing too much
  • Going too fast and need to slow down.

 

Directions: Confirm this is the best formula for you with the SOS Symbol.

Find a quiet place if possible, where you won’t be disturbed for about twenty minutes. Begin by reading the first message and then gaze gently at the Circle or chart that goes with it for approximately two minutes. A longer or shorter time may be necessary. Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible. Don’t worry if the images move around or change in any way. That just means the Circles are working and that your mind and body are coming into balance. 

Some emotions might come up as well. That also means the Circles are working. Just give yourself permission to let go of anything that’s causing you pain or suffering.

If someone is with you, talk to them about some of the feelings that you’re having. It could help you to gain perspective on your situation. Having perspective allows you to make the best decisions about what will help you now. 

After you’ve finished going through the entire formula, let yourself rest for a little while. You’re doing very well with such a difficult circumstance. 


 

Presence

1. Take a few moments and breathe deeply.
 Pay special attention to those places in your body where you are feeling pain or discomfort.
 Consciously let them relax.
Move around or stretch if you need to.

 

Receptivity

2. Ask for peace to come into your heart and awareness.

Consciously move your energy out of your head and pull it down into your heart and solar plexus area.

 

Balance

3. You don’t need to be perfect or be everything to everyone.

Are you trying to take care of something that’s not your problem? If so, give yourself a break and resolve to let it go.

You are responsible for only your part of the situation. What is your part?

 

Compassion

4. Focus your energy on taking good care of yourself now. You are very important and what you do matters.
People care about you. 

What would be genuinely helpful in this situation?

Is there something you can do to be genuinely helpful to others?

 

Nourishment

5. It’s all right to take care of yourself and ask for help. Go back to your heart and listen to it beating – nice and steady. You are alive. 

What do you need to help you take good care of yourself?

Make a list so you can remember.

 

Change

6. In your life, what’s been working and what hasn’t been working?

Are you willing to let go of things that are not working?

Release any agreements to hold on.

Affirm that you‘re ready and able to let go and make the changes necessary for you now.

 

Realization

7. Keep looking at the Circle while you relax and think of something that you love very much. 

Have you been jeopardizing things that matter to you?

If you have, what can you do to set it right?

Make note of the ideas that come to you.

 

Clean Up

8. Use this Circle to sweep any confusion or clutter out of your mind and send the debris up to the Sun. Sweep it all away!

Notice how much better your body feels when your mind gets clear.

 

Clarity

9. Use this Circle to help you close the door on all that clutter and confusion.

Close the doors and seal the leaks as if they were never there.

You probably feel much clearer now.

 

Inner Guidance

10. Take some deep breaths and move your body around again. Let your shoulders drop.

Listen to that calm, gentle voice that comes from your heart. What is it telling you?

11. Allow that calm feeling to come from your heart and fill up your entire body – all the way to your fingertips.

When we’re feeling anxiety, it’s usually directly related to the levels of uncertainty we’re experiencing. In normal times, managing anxiety has been an individual matter and has to do with being okay with not knowing what’s going to happen.

However, due to the pandemic, society in general is experiencing existential levels of uncertainty, which in turn increases our collective levels of anxiety. None of us knows what’s going to happen! Whether it be reopening the economy, the upcoming transfer of power or handling economic stress, being able to focus your attention on something positive may simply seem out of the question.

These feelings can come on suddenly and be very overwhelming. For example, the other day I went to the grocery store and while waiting in line, I could feel myself starting to get elevated. Even though the actual situation wasn’t all that bad, I was keenly aware of a malaise and emotional backdrop made up of fear, dissatisfaction and anxiety.

Thank goodness I quickly released my agreement to buy into it and then went through this handy exercise once I got home to help me gently separate from the panic and keep my thoughts from running away too far!

Managing Anxiety in the Midst of Collective Fear uses affirmations and the Intuitive Learning Circles™ that can help when you are:

  • Picking up on anxiety around you
  • Getting anxious about an important decision
  • Experiencing performance anxiety
  • Overstimulated or feeling under attack
  • Feeling dizzy or overwhelmed
  • Unable to follow through due to anxiety.

Set aside about ten to fifteen minutes. Start by reading the directions: Gaze at each Circle for approximately two minutes. A longer or shorter time may be necessary. Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible.

Here’s an example of how the Circles can help you restore balance when you’re managing anxiety:

Contemplate the positive affirmations that go with this Circle for a minute or so:

“I bring my senses into balance.”

“I focus them so that I can feel calmer and concentrate on what’s important.”

“I use them to help me be more aware of my surroundings and what I’m doing.”

“I focus on thoughts and actions that are helpful and in my best interest.”

The Circle may seem to move, spin or even change color. That means that it’s working. Just keep breathing and let the energy move. Once it calms down, your emotional state may improve as well. Then you’ll be ready to continue with the exercise.

Managing Anxiety

This exercise will help you slow down, pull your thoughts together and help you take good care of yourself.

Step One: Awareness

Breathe in and gently gaze at the Circle. While you exhale, affirm to yourself:
“I am connected, aware and guided by the truth.”

“Taking good care of myself is important.”

 

Step Two – Balance

It may feel like you’re all off balance or whirling like a top. Keep breathing and let this Circle help you get more balanced again.

Pay special attention to your tailbone.

 

Step Three – Protection

Continue to breathe and imagine yourself in an environment that’s very safe and peaceful.
You are completely protected in this place.

 

Step Four ~ Clarity

Let this Circle help you turn the volume down on your senses. They could be turned up too high. You can calm down and see things as they really are. Move if you need to. Let your shoulders drop.

“I can see the light in a dark situation.”

Be sure to do that both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

 

Step Five – Slow Motion

Your mind might be hurried, spinning or frenzied, so let this Circle help you imagine that everything’s slowing down. 
It’s okay to slow down… moving in slow motion.


Again, do that both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

 

Step Six – Trust

Let your belly relax where your ribs go up in the front.
It’s okay for you to relax there and breathe as deeply as you want.

It’s okay for you to just be. Things are getting sorted out now.

 

Step Seven – Steadfast

Use this Circle to focus in on your heart.
Your heartbeat is steady and getting calmer by the minute.
You are okay.

 

Step Eight – Breath

Let this Circle help you open up your breath now.
Your lungs work together with your heart to keep oxygen flowing through you.
Breathing in the breath of life and exhaling…

 

Step Nine – Equilibrium

It’s important to keep breathing.
Your diaphragm works together with your heart and lungs to help you breathe.
You are okay. Your breathing is okay.

 

Step Ten – Resolution

As you gaze at this Circle, you can deactivate the overstimulated parts of your brain. Just keep breathing and say to yourself:

“I am calming down. Everything is relaxing.”

 

Step Eleven – Release

Imagine that you’re completely surrounded by a sphere of light filled with strength, courage and determination. Take as long as you like with this.

“I am filled with strength and determination.

I am strong and deflect the excess energy of collective anxiety.” 

 

Step Twelve – Emotional Freedom

Dissolve your connection to the mental and emotional malaise that’s behind our collective anxiety. Use this symbol for dissolving destructive blueprints to clear the patterns from your mental continuum and send them to the Sun to be purified. 

Then, collapse the energetic sewers that spread the malaise.

Finish this formula by closing the doors in your mind that lead to collective anxiety and fear.

After you’ve gone through the entire formula, consider taking a brisk walk or exercising to help discharge your excess energy. When you’re ready, see if you can take action on some new solutions that come to mind.

Soul Oriented Solutions: A Self-care Formula for Loss and Emotional Stress ~

SOS- Self-care for LossMany people are experiencing deep levels of anxiousness, distress and fear around our current situation due to the pandemic. These feelings can come on suddenly and
be very overwhelming. You might have lost a relative, a job or an important friendship. You could be facing a health challenge or even a loss in your purpose and sense of self. In situations like these, it can take a while to regain your balance. What are some ways to provide self-care for loss and bring some level of emotional relief?

If you can find a way to tune into your deepest resources, you’ll discover that you’re never completely alone, even in your darkest hours.

Rheanni Lightwater CHT, CKP Self-care for LossSOS - Self-care for LossTo help out, I’d like to share this brief exercise from RESOLVE that uses positive affirmations and the Intuitive Learning Circles™. You can use it whenever you are:

  • Stressed over a lost job or income
  • Grieving a loss of any kind
  • Recovering from an abusive experience – past or present
  • Dealing with a serious or long-term illness
  • Preparing for surgery
  • Coming to terms with tragedy, loss or death.

Here’s an example of how the Circles can help you restore balance.

Simply gaze softly at the image while you contemplate the positive affirmations that go with it for for a minute or so. Relax and breathe:

“I bring my senses into balance.”

“I focus them so that I can feel calmer and more aware of what’s important.”

“I use my senses to help me be more aware of where I am and what I’m doing.”

“I focus on thoughts and actions that are hopeful and in my best interest.”

 

Next, you can continue Self-care for Loss by allowing this Reiki Chakra Key to provide chakra healing to your heart center. It helps to put both feet flat on the floor and place your hands on your heart while you gaze at the symbol.  Here’s a a couple of suggested affirmations:

“I am filled with compassion for the suffering of myself and others. I open my heart to the possibility of healing and moving forward.”

Strong emotions or insights may come up. The images may move, rotate, vibrate or change color. Don’t worry. That happens sometimes. It just means they’re working to help you feel better. Once the energy calms down a bit, you can move on to the remaining Circles with each of their affirmations to complete the process.

You might want to journal some of your thoughts so that you can speak with a trusted counselor or friend about what comes up. If so, get out some paper and something to write with as you go through the steps.

Self-care for Loss

Step One: Asking for Help

Breathe in deeply, all the way to your belly while you look at this Circle. 

If you could ask for something that would help you feel better, what would that be? Place your request in the center, open space of this Circle and imagine you can send your breath to it.

For best results, put your hands on your knees and breathe in through your nose 4 times, exhaling with a long “hoo” sound. Do that three times (three sets of four breaths).

 

Step Two – Support

Imagine that you can bring healing and release into all parts of your body, mind and spirit while you continue to breathe.

Miracles - Self-care for Loss

Put your hands on your knees again and breathe in through your nose 3 times, exhaling with a long “ma” sound. Do that four times (four sets of three breaths).

 

Step Three ~ Peace

What do you think is the main difficulty or burden you’re dealing with right now?
Are you ready to let go of that burden and find a solution? 
If not, why not?

 

Step Four – Release

 If you can, imagine that burden is beginning to melt and soften up.

You can release the tension around anything that’s bothering you right now. Your shoulders are dropped. Your jaw is relaxed. Hardened thoughts are melting.

Keep melting the tension until it’s all gone.


Remember to do that both crossed and uncrossed.

 

Step Five – Soul Vision

Consider what your life could be without those burdens. Sense the experience as much as you can in detail. See it, hear it, taste it, smell it and feel it.

 

Step Six – Remove Your Burdens

Imagine that you can send all those burdens to where ever they need to go to resolve themselves. Feel the heaviness lifting up and off of you.

You have done the best that you can under the circumstances.

 

Step Seven:

Gently contemplate this symbol to help you gain insight and spiritual direction about appropriate things to do in this situation.

What would Love do?

 

Step Eight – Rebalance

Breathe again.
Feel a calmness coming over you.
You feel calmer and calmer with every breath.

 

Step Nine – Cleansing

Send away any illness, pain or fear that you’re experiencing. Send it to the Sun or wherever it needs to go to heal.

 

Step Ten – Faith

Fill yourself with strength and the knowledge that you are loved. 

 

Let yourself rest now. You might feel tired or sad. That’s okay. It means that you’re feeling safe enough to really let go and rest.

Some people have gotten a lot of extra support out of going through this self-care for loss formula every day for twenty-one days. It helps to retrain your mind to think more positively and keep you on track toward recovery.
