Recovering from Trauma

Recovering from a Traumatic Experience: SOS For Collapse ~

After a traumatic experience many people feel lost, shattered or fragmented and if they don’t get a chance to reintegrate, their power and life force can easily get drained and collapse.

Moreover, if the problem isn’t addressed fairly quickly, the pattern can become ingrained, making the individual more susceptible to long-term poor health, anxiety, hopelessness and/or feeling disconnected.

Going through Recovering from a Traumatic Experience is a natural way to reclaim wholeness and quickly reconnect fragmented parts of your true Essence.

By reducing the impact of shock and fear on the nervous system, patterns of hopelessness can be dispelled before they get a chance to become habitual.

Use this self-care formula when you are:

  • Feeling lost, scattered or out of balance
  • Anxious or upset by an experience that’s overwhelmed you
  • Weakened and want to regain your strength
  • Disoriented due to a radical change
  • Triggered by the memory of a traumatic event
  • Having a flashback or out of body experience.
  • Going through a major reorganization of consciousness.

Directions: Confirm this is the best formula for you with the SOS symbol.

Recovering from a Traumatic Experience - SOS Symbol

Here’s how it works: Simply go through the formula while you follow the directions. Gaze softly at each image and notice any thoughts or feelings you might have in response to the words that accompany them. Some people like to write down their insights to share with a trusted counselor or friend.

You might also want to use this formula like a prayer or request for help. Remember to remain open though, because help doesn’t always come in the way we expect it to!

Caution: The use of this self-care formula is not intended to take the place of appropriate medical and/or psychiatric care when dealing with trauma and recovery. If you are having thoughts of suicide or extreme panic, call 988 or seek help immediately.

SOS – Recovering from a Traumatic Experience

Strength

1. Begin by taking a few deep breaths while you gaze softly into the Circle. Turn your attention to the center, blank area.

Start breathing deeply into your belly. Inhale through your nose if you can.
Gradually feel your strength returning to you. Stronger and stronger with each and every breath.

Presence

2. Notice where you are right now. How old do you feel? How old are you really?

Feel your hands open and close.
Notice the time. Move around. Bring yourself into the present.

Courage

3. What do you need right now? What would help you the most?

Make a note of whatever comes up, even if it doesn’t make sense at first.

Recognition

4. Do you know what has happened to you?
How would you describe it?
What insights do you get about your situation?

Honesty

5. How are you feeling?
What would help you to feel better?

Support

6. Describe how you would like to feel.
Is it alright to do that? Is anything missing?
If it’s alright, breathe deeply and let yourself get a feeling of what it would be like.

Protection

You are learning to take care of yourself in new ways.

Clarity

8. What do you want to have happen?

What do you need to stop sending energy to?

Communication

9. Is there anything else that you want to ask for?

Are you open to receiving what you’re asking for?
If not, what is the blockage?

Reciprocity

10. Focus your energy on what you need to do to take care of yourself.
Imagine your intention in the middle of this Circle where kind and helpful energy can move down along the lines to the center. Are you present and able to receive help?

Are you willing to lift your perception up to the Light of your Soul to ask for and receive guidance?

Truth

11. It’s okay to receive help. Imagine that you’re being filled up with gentle, loving energy. It’s okay to receive help.
Take all the time you need to regain balance.
How do you feel now?
