Navigating Change with the Chinese Zodiac
The Chinese Zodiac ~
The collective unconscious has always looked for intuitive guidance from the stars and different constellations or astrological signs are often named after animals. In the Chinese Zodiac, we are currently traveling in the Year of the Yin Wood Snake.
The Chinese Zodiac will change to the Year of the Horse on the Lunar New Year, February 17th, 2026 and you can feel the energy speeding up already.
However, it’s not a good idea to mix the energy of the Horse with the Snake too much. Just think what could happen if those two met on the road! The combination of energies is just too threatening and we really don’t need any more of that.
Better to stay with the Snake until she’s ready to leave…
Year of the Snake: 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025, 2037…
On the positive side, Snake is known to be: Sociable, especially Graceful, Wise, Perceptive and Determined.
On the challenging side, she can easily slither into: Jealous, Unapproachable, especially Suspicious, Sly and Inconsistent.
Snake is feared by many and vastly misunderstood.
Perhaps our prejudice against her contributes to why so many misunderstandings, disagreements and miscommunications have been abundant over the past year.
What has living in the Year of the Snake meant for you?
If you’re someone who can get over their fears, you may have been able to make friends with her. Lucky you! She has probably imparted some very important lessons about shedding old skins and being willing to transform especially difficult emotional, physical and spiritual challenges. If you ask her respectfully, she may have some more advice for you about the transition we’re going through now.
The Snake’s Feng Shui Mandala below can give you a sense of what the archetype of the Snake is about and how it may influence you. If you’re interested, gently contemplate its center and relax. When you’re ready, ask yourself these questions and journal the answers that come:
“What is the most important thing I can focus my energy and effort on during this last phase of the Year of the Snake?”
“How may I best direct my energy and intentions?
Why is that important?
Are there other important things for me be aware of?
If so, can I tell what they are and how I can best understand them?
Is there I Ching advice that would help me?”
“What is the most important thing I can focus my energy and effort on?”
Notice how she doesn’t like to be forced or pushed into anything. Does she sense that you’re pushing? If so, ask her what she recommends. If you’re wise you’ll take her advice.
Other questions you might ask would be:
“Are there any important warnings for this time in the Year of the Snake?
Who should I listen to?
What kind of movement is recommended for success? What is the direction?
Are there any snake holes that need to be avoided?
Are they emotional, physical, mental or spiritual holes?”
Snake is a great advocate for the truth and is very cautious and perceptive, which makes her a good guide for telling it like it is. Are there any games, formulas or exercises that would be helpful for you? Here are Kuan Yin’s suggestions:
There’s an abundance of trouble out there. Her advice is to stay calm and continue to listen to your intuitive hits. Develop Precognition so you can be in the right place a t the right time.
It’s likely that you’ll feel under attack, Snake definitely understands and advises to Stay Grounded in the Truth and Your Power.
By navigating change with the Chinese Zodiac, your awareness will be enhanced – helping you to find your way through the challenging times ahead.

Navigating Jaguar
If You’re Navigating Change with Jaguar Today…
Jaguar is recommending this Mind Exercise from RESOLVE to help you make effective plans:
Follow the direction and protection of your Soul.
When times are dangerous and filled with too much change, the best way to manage yourself safely is to follow the directions you get from your Soul.
By slowing down and navigating through Love and courage, rather than fear and emotional reactions, you increase the odds that circumstances will move in a more peaceful and cooperative manner.
There is a need to exercise patience and the kind of clear sight that can only be found through help from the Soul.
Tips for improved results: It may seem counter-intuitive, however, in times of rapid change and high stakes, the more relaxed you are, the more likely it is that you can receive true guidance.
Slow down to prevent rash decisions.
Gaze softly at this symbol and relax as much as possible. Utilize your breath while you imagine that you can consciously slow your energy down.
If possible, come to a complete stop so you have a chance to get present.
Follow those directions both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body for optimal Mind Body Integration. Move around or stretch if you feel the need.
Slowing down and tuning into helpful communication channels with your Soul will give you a new outlook and ability to follow the kind of guidance that can make a significant difference in how things work out.
Gaze softly at Divine Protection to get centered.
Keep breathing and use the symbol as a filter for beneficial energy to begin flowing through you.
To access life affirming channels of communication, visualize all the lines coming together and connecting into the center Circle.
*Remember that it helps to integrate with Divine Protection anytime you’re using the Intuitive Learning Circles.
