Someone’s critical mind wants to block true guidance from your Soul. Is it yours or someone else’s? It could be an external influence, but most likely it’s being fed by your own internal criticism that takes form through habitual patterns of self-hate, second guessing, self-doubt, or just plain contrariness. The inner critic doesn’t really care where an idea comes from or whether it’s helpful or not – it just wants to throw a wrench into your thinking.
When Alligator medicine shows up, you can bet that some kind of cruel mental or emotional construct is trying to take over you and/or your plans. You are being encouraged to let it go before you stop yourself from doing the right thing – again.
Perhaps in the past you haven’t believed that anyone was there for you. You might even have felt that others were out to get you. If that’s the case, it’s now time to respond differently. 29.Chigger – chigger medicine reminds us to detach from whatever is irritating us. When we offer no resistance to the negative attitudes of others, there is nothing left for them to feed on.
Are you taking things too personally? Is something getting under your skin? If so, what might help?
Healing Action: Decide that your reactions matter by growing a thicker skin. You don’t have to take on negativity, especially when it isn’t really about you.
Growing A Thick Skin
Chiggers are mites that dig under the skin and lay eggs.
They irritate and cause you to itch voraciously.
Unfortunately, the more you scratch –
the more they spread and the worse it gets.
Parasites of this sort come in many forms:
the gossiping neighbor next door,
the rebellious child,
the critical boss,
and the nagging mate.
It’s as if all they want is to get under your skin.

You are very easily irritated by your current circumstance. It would be advisable for you to transform your irritation into an energy that will fuel your dreams instead of destroying them. This fire (your irritation) causes your energy to leak and gives you an excuse to act foolishly by blaming, arguing, gossiping or feeling sorry for yourself. When you do these things you are really fueling a destructive fire within yourself.

Ask Your Intuitive Guidance About Specific Actions to Take ~
Slow down and think about things that you’re considering doing at this time – i.e. taking a trip, starting a business, a project, etc.
If you’re all up in your head, it’ll help to get your feet on the ground and consciously bring your energy down into your solar plexus area. Once you’ve done that, slow down even more!
Stop focusing on what you’re trying to accomplish and chill out for a few minutes. Just relax.
When your mind starts racing and you’re too busy to stop and take a deep breath, you are identifying with the collective ego. Catch yourself before your ego runs away completely! Imagine you can sweep away all that clutter.
Move around. Stretch if you need to. Take several long, deep breaths – inhale and exhale.
Once your mind has calmed down, gently bring your mind back to your question. What were you thinking of doing?
Notice how much better your body feels when your mind has calmed down… now you’re ready to ask:
How would taking that action nurture you?
Is the timing for it right?
Would doing it energize you, drain you or something else?
What is your impression of how it would actually feel to do that thing?
Dive deeper with a perspective from your Soul that could help you expose potential sabotage and find your way forward through positive solutions.
Take the action that you’re considering and project it out into the future – what do you sense?
Does taking this action serve you on a Soul level? Does it have purpose and meaning? Would it be joyful? What are the possibilities that could result from taking this action? Are there certain steps or decisions that need to happen first?
What effect would taking the action have on your other priorities?

Is the Way You Handle Irritations Working for You or Impairing Your Health?
Do you handle irritations by flying off the handle, cursing out loud, or is it more like a slow burn? Some people are able to put on a happy face and set their grievances aside only to wind up paying for it much later with serious health problems.
Certainly, it seems that everywhere and every day, there are plenty of things to be irritated about. However, are you letting them drain your energy or sour your mood? Do they keep you up at night? Are you dangerously close to lashing out at others, even those that you hold most dear?
Well, if that’s happening, you’re certainly not alone. These are all ways that we keep “scratching the itch” and make bad situations worse.
This is a great subject to journal about for your own personal growth. You can turn irritations into positive progress, and this Mind Exercise is here to help you do that.

Often, an irritation communicates on several levels. Ask yourself:
“How is this irritation affecting me physically?
Mentally?
Emotionally?
What about spiritually?”
Does it remind you of something that has happened before? If so, how far back does it go?
In what ways do you keep “scratching the itch?”
Is that working for you? If not, are you open to an alternative path?
Keep writing until you feel confident you’ve gotten all the information.

Some may be turned up too high, causing anxiety, tension and/or misinformation about what’s really going on. That happens most often with the senses of feeling and hearing. You can use this Circle to help you adjust the volume up or down to just the right level.
Relax and allow your mind to adjust to the best level for clear perception:
Bring your senses into balance and perceive your situation with clarity.
Check in with Fly Medicine to see if your energy is getting drained by this situation.
If so, can you tell how often it happens? Does something seem to trigger it? What goes on mentally?
It probably wouldn’t surprise you if a lot of what’s irritating you is the fact that it’s so draining! Take a few moments to consciously close the drains like old plumbing lines that need to be closed down completely.

Rheanni Lightwater is an author and energy medicine educator who has created a unique method for facilitating trauma resolution and self-care calledthe Intuitive Learning Circles.
Ms. Lightwater’s background is primarily in thecreative arts and alternative health field utilizing Hypnotherapy, Bio-Somatic Education, Feng Shui, Applied Kinesiology, Reiki and Energy Medicine.
Due to her interest in trauma resolution, Ms. Lightwater began her healing practice as an integrative bodyworker in 1991. She quickly immersed herself in Hanna somatic education, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Lomi Lomi, BioSomatics and Structural Integration. Later, she received Certification in Hypnotherapy, Kinesiology and became a Master Teacher in Reiki, Karuna® Reiki and Grail Reiki.
As an educator, Rheanni has taught extensively about mental, emotional and spiritual issues relating to trauma resolution, PTSD, abuse and how they are reflected in our subtle energetic fields.
As a result of studying the indigenous healing practices of Tibet, Japan, Hawaii and Peru, Ms. Lightwater developed a unique understanding of the subtle human energy field. During a visit to the Amazon in 2001, she participated in numerous ceremonies with the Shipibo shamans. Her experiences there gave birth to the Intuitive Learning Circles and other healing symbols. Gifts from the Rainforest and Reiki Chakra Keys are the primary collections in the series.
In 2008, Ms. Lightwater received First Place in the New Age Category of the New Mexico Book Awards for her first edition of Soul Oriented Solutions. She has won awards numerous times since then.
As part of her pioneering work over the years, Rheanni has developed hundreds of healing symbols and researched various applications for them in medical clinics, detox centers, business settings, workshops, schoolrooms, online classes and in individual sessions. She has extensive experience helping people deal with serious illnesses, heavy metal poisoning, chemical sensitivity, immune deficiency and a wide range of trauma and stress induced disorders.
The positive response to the Intuitive Learning Circles show them to be effective in shifting dysfunctional brain patterns in both children and adults, freeing them from destructive thoughts and behaviors that contribute to serious illness, learning difficulties and emotional distress.
In addition, Rheanni has taught other Somatic Educators, Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Yoga Instructors, Massage Therapists, Hypnotherapists, Naturopathic and Allopathic Physicians about Energy Medicine and how to develop their own clairvoyant skills.
In her latest project, Rheanni continues the Soul Oriented Solutions series with two online collections of self care formulas and mind exercises that provide mental, emotional and spiritual support in these times of uncertainty, loss and radical change.
