Healing Emotional Shock

Any person who is going through serious loss could experience emotional shock.

Healing Emotional ShockThe symptoms of emotional shock are disorientation, numbness, mental confusion or fragmentation. A person may even disconnect and leave their body. This includes people who are witness to traumatic experiences in some way.

These are all ways that the unconscious mind protects us during a traumatic event:

  • Feeling stuck, numb, lost or helpless
  • Unable to rest or relax
  • Caught in a blank or fixed state of mind
  • Waking up at night worried, with obsessive thoughts
  • Reliving painful experiences
  • Alternately feeling trapped and shattered.

The following mind exercise uses the Intuitive Learning Circle method for healing emotional shock ~

Sometimes people who’ve just received bad news or experienced a traumatic event will tell you that they’re fine and not to worry about them. That’s because one of the main symptoms of being in shock is not being aware of being in shock. Why is that? During a shock, the mind goes blank as a form of protection.

The Brain and Emotional Shock

The shock response is natural and not a sign of spiritual, mental or emotional weakness. It is a physiological event. Nevertheless, if the person doesn’t get a chance to get grounded in their body again – or if they’re not able to – serious problems may develop. Blocked energy and a constant state of fight or flight takes its toll over time. Statements like: “I can’t think straight,” “My life was shattered” or “I feel disconnected” describe the experience of emotional shock.

If any of the above seems familiar, you can go through this mind exercise step by step to help you access your own innate healing abilities and bring yourself back into balance.

Simply follow the directions and see if you can free up some of the confusion and conflict that comes from shock. Here’s an example of how it works. Simply gaze softly at the Circle while you contemplate each of these positive affirmations:

“I reclaim and balance my five senses.”

“I focus them to be present and aware of my body.”

“I use them to become aware of my environment and what’s important to me right now.”

“I focus on life affirming actions that benefit my well-being and happiness.”

For best results, look at each symbol both crossed over the midline of the body and uncrossed so that the correction is more complete.

Let yourself breathe and relax as much as possible. Don’t worry if the images move around or change in any way. That just means the Circles are working and that your mind and body are relaxing.
Be sure to go through the entire formula and at the end, give yourself time to rest and integrate.


Healing Emotional Shock and Confusion

Step One:

Take several deep breaths and relax while you look at this Circle that releases shock and inner conflict.

Imagine you can use it to focus in on a conflict or painful experience that’s blocking your way. If your mind is blank, relax into how “blank” it is. You may get a conscious image or message, or you may not.

Once you have a sense that your mind has found the blockage, sit back and take a couple more deep breaths. Imagine that the darkness or heaviness is like an iceberg and the Sun is melting it away with a beautiful beam of light. Allow it to melt until it’s completely gone.

Check for other blockages or conflicts that you can do the same with.

Step Two:

The next step is to bring your senses into balance so that you can see and hear things without the distortion that often accompanies shock.

As you breathe deeply, let this Circle help you to adjust the volume and pitch of your senses to just the right level for you.

Soon you will be able to hear that “calm, gentle voice” inside that reminds you about what matters the most to you:

“I see things as they really are. My senses are balanced. I reconnect with what matters the most.”

Step Three:

When a person is recovering from emotional shock, their energy may express some instability like being scattered, reversed or even shut down completely. Let this Key help you make corrections and repair any glitches, holes or blockages in your system.

Keep relaxing with it until you feel the jagged energy smoothing out and the calm energy of your Soul beginning to come through.

 

Step Four:

If your gut feels tight or uncomfortable, use this Reiki Chakra Key for your solar plexus to help you relax and get back into balance there. Your solar plexus is that soft place in your belly where your ribs go up. Just take some nice breaths and feel it relax as you say to yourself:

“It’s safe. I feel safe and more relaxed with every breath.”

Step Five:

Sometimes a person who’s had an emotional shock will be disoriented and feel a bit “out of their body.” In case that’s happening with you, take a few minutes to consciously bring yourself back into your body.

“I am at home in my center. I am inside myself.”

You can open and close your hands. Move your fingers and wiggle your toes around. Notice the time and where you are. These actions all help you recover from emotional shock.

Step Six:

Make sure that you’re no longer planted in that old experience, whatever it was. Let this Circle unearth old agreements, assumptions or conditioning that’s sucking you back into the past or holding you down.

“I uproot whatever is confusing me. I decide to get grounded in what’s true. The Earth supports me.”

There may be a lot, so take all the time you need to free yourself.

Step Seven:

Oftentimes, healing emotional shock and confusion requires a change in priorities. There may be certain plans, ideas or habitual patterns that are no longer relevant or constructive. Certain roles may get suddenly reversed. You can use this symbol for dissolving destructive blueprints to help you identify them and dissolve whatever is confusing you.

Actively imagine that the negative patterns in your mind are like heavy clouds or a jumbled maze of fears and nightmares.

Once you have the image, bring the pure light of the Sun in and dissolve the maze completely.

You’ll know that you’re done when you can see yourself standing in a beautiful open field with clear blue skies all around.

Please note: Never send destructive energies into the Earth, she already has too much to handle now. Use the Earth for planting seeds of happiness and life – not death!

Step Eight:

Seal and heal any holes, leaks or openings in your energy field. Leaky energy may open you up to danger or allow harmful energies to attach to you. It can also leave you feeling drained and exhausted.

As you gaze at the Circle, imagine harmful leaks and openings are closing as if they were never there.

“All holes are healed and sealed.”

“I follow the direction of my Soul’s protection.”

 

Step Nine:

Make sure you aren’t getting sucked up into any old habits or energy drains.

“I deconstruct old habits that cause me harm.”

“I close up any energy drains so that I may recover my strength.”  

“I ask for the void to be filled in with healthy, life affirming energy.”

 

Step Ten:

Now, it’s important to make sure you’re grounded. Without proper grounding, you could get frantic, distracted and confused. That’s not what you want. What you decide to do matters now more than ever!

Let this Circle for grounding firmly on Mother Earth help you. Place both feet on the ground and your hands on each knee while you use these affirmations:

“I decide to get grounded.”
“My energy is getting coherent and the Earth supports me.”

Again, take all the time you need with this.

 

Step Eleven:

Bring your attention to the space that surrounds your body.

“I strengthen and repair my auras for greater protection.”

“I feel protected in my body and safe in my own space.”

Step Twelve.

To finish this exercise, let your heart recover. This Circle will help you to balance your heart energy and clear away any residual heaviness. Breathe deeply and take your time.

“I feel the heaviness lifting up out of my heart.”

“I let it go and send it to the Sun where it can be transformed.”

“I have the strength and resilience to shine my light.”

Now that you’re finished with the exercise, consider taking a nice walk outside. Nothing grounds you like being in nature after an emotional shock.

Criticism, judgment or prejudice within your own mind is keeping you isolated and unable to utilize the help that is being offered. It’s also preventing you from growing in a positive direction.

What you bring into reality has a lot to do with the choices you make and that’s often based on what you’re paying attention to. Have you been spending too much time with technology or listening to the media? Over-exposure could be a big source of trouble.

Whenever your mind is filled with negative thoughts, it isn’t a good time to push yourself further by trying to force your way through. The best thing to do is take it easy so you don’t burn yourself out. Rushing around trying to get things done will probably backfire at this time. Instead, do something special for yourself that will take your attention away from your negative thoughts. Keeping your thoughts neutral makes it easier to stay in contact with your Soul.

You have been caught in a maze of conflict and contempt that seems to be unending. Chaos is rampant, no one seems to have a solution and common sense is completely absent from the situation. Creative energy is suppressed and opportunity has been shut down.

It may be necessary to transform attitudes and behaviors if you want to cooperate with the higher wisdom of your Soul. As you look at the Circle, notice the thoughts that keep going through your head. Luckily the Universe is more loving than the ego!

Instead of focusing on the conflict, look at the Circle again, only this time, focus on things that bring you joy. This could be one of those situations where “faking it till you make it” is one of the best or perhaps the only way out of your predicament.

This is not a denial of what’s happening. This is acceptance and then making a deliberate choice to focus on the very best, most productive thoughts that would be in your highest good. Doing so will help you recharge your creative batteries and get you through a difficult time.

Stop Disaster Thinking

One of the biggest challenges of facing confusing situations is the problem of disaster thinking.

It’s so easy to get sucked into negative, disaster thinking. All you have to do is turn on any form of media and within minutes you’re hit with intense waves of anger, fear, even paranoia. Before you know it, your energy is drained and you’re feeling hopeless.

Stop Disaster ThinkingOf course there are plenty of disastrous events that are actually happening. I’m not suggesting that you isolate, live in denial or surround yourself with ‘nothing to see here’ apathy. However, paying too much attention to problems while ignoring the solutions is like watching a rotten foundation collapse under your feet and assuming the rest of the building is going to stay upright and stable. It ain’t gonna happen!

Our problems can’t be solved from the same mental position they were created from. A positive balance can be struck by consciously pulling your attention and energy away from the problems and redirecting them to genuinely helpful solutions.

It may sound hard to do, but learning to stop disaster thinking can happen with a holistic approach that includes Mother Nature.

Stop Disaster Thinking in the New ParadigmWith the Intuitive Learning Circle method, you can easily use the Circles and Animal Totems below as refocusing tools. All you have to do is be open and follow the simple directions.

Each Circle helps gather unconscious information, organize awareness and illuminate solutions that come directly from your Soul. You are in charge!

Start out by taking a moment to consider what kinds of situations really suck you in. At this moment, what seems to be draining you?  

An energy drain could be anything – time, work, family, politics, technology, social media or even a personal relationship.

What kind of disaster thinking comes to mind first?

Next, scroll down and gaze softly at the short sequence of Intuitive Learning Circles below. Let each Circle help you access intuitive answers to the questions that go along with them.

 

Step 1:

Take a moment to relax and take a few deep breaths. Let your shoulders drop and gently look at the Circle in whatever way that appeals to you. Once you feel pretty relaxed, ask yourself some questions:

“What am I paying attention to and is that in my best interests?”

“What am I making up about this? Is my imagination running wild? Am I perceiving it realistically? Or, is there a combination of both?”

It’s important that you take whatever answers that come to you because they’re having a significant effect on your ability to keep your mindset positive.

 

Step 2:

Are you fixating on the problem or does your mind go blank? If so, your mental / emotional energy is feeding directly into the problem instead of solving it!

See if you can soften your thoughts and attention by relaxing with this Circle. Breathe into it and visualize the lines getting all soft and wavy, like limp, loose spaghetti noodles.

Once you’re relaxed, you can move any blockages out of the way.

 

Step 3.

Gaze softly at this next Circle that helps you access your unconscious decisions:

“What decisions am I making about this situation? What have I decided about myself? Are those productive thoughts?”

If they are productive, great! Make them even stronger. If they’re not productive, you may need to release fixated thoughts again with Step 2.

What kind of thoughts and decisions would be better for you to follow? Don’t judge, just relax and let this Circle help you turn your thoughts around. Oftentimes when we change the direction of our thoughts and decisions, the situation begins to change too.

 

Step 4.

Do you need to change any intentions that are interfering with your health or happiness? If you do, it’s time to surrender them like old ashes out of a shaman’s prayer pipe.

What is a simple intention that would be more beneficial now?

 

Step 5.

Use this Soul Prayer Chart to help you communicate with your Soul’s new intentions using the lighter, easier flow of life force available in the new Age of Aquarius (Air).

Start by closing down old, harmful energy channels from the Piscean Age (Water).

“I close down all harmful energy channels.”

“All aspects of my mind, body and nervous system are receiving helpful, generative life force. I am able to connect to communication channels with my Soul.”

 

Step 6.

As you gaze at this Reiki Chakra Key for balancing your Crown Chakra, ask yourself:

“Am I willing to align my chakra system with this new communication channel and generative life flow?”

If the answer you get is “no,” what is the mindset that you’re experiencing? Is it creating a problem or a solution? What would help?

If the answer is “yes,” use your imagination to integrate with that energy.  Pull your energy away from disaster thinking and bring it back to connect with your Soul. This may take a while. Take a break, move around or stretch for a few minutes.

 

Step 7.

If you’ve decided to take good care of yourself, seal up those drains in your energy field – nice and secure.

“All leaks and drains affecting my energy are closing down and shutting off in accordance with my highest good.”

This puts you in a better mindset to re-direct all that energy to the care and feeding of your body, mind and Soul!

 

Step 8.

Use this Circle to help connect you with your heart center which will empower your highest good.

“I am empowered to make beneficial decisions and maintain my highest good – for my own sake and the sake of others.”

Again, this may take a few minutes to integrate, so do what you are inspired to do. Move around and stretch if you like.

 

 

Step 9:

Check into your sense of direction…

“Am I clear and heading in the direction that’s genuinely helpful to me?”

If you’re confused, relax and let Dog Medicine help you get back on track.

 

Step 10.

Imagine that your spirit can turn you towards the direction of your highest good and close the door completely on all that disaster thinking. 

“All harmful pathways are sealed and healed.
I follow the direction of my Soul’s protection.” 

Once you’re clear that you’re heading in the right direction, you have successfully pulled yourself out of disaster thinking.

Healing Action: Don’t get sucked into bad habits. Deconstruct them. Close the drains and clean up leftover garbage. Then fill the leftover void with love, life and happiness!

The fly lives off the waste and garbage
left by others.
When unattended to, this pest brings bacteria and disease with it,
spreading misfortune and death among the living
He serves as a potent reminder that if you leave
unfinished business to fester, illness will return again.
Right action is about inner direction
and doing what’s in your best self-interest.
When you see the fly, consider how it’s in your best self interests to
clean up self-destructive habits and toxicity in your environment.
Then, once you’ve released the poison from your system,
leave it behind.
Do not return again to eat from your own garbage.
It’s no longer a part of you and you have no need of it,
no matter how familiar it is.

Something about a project or plan you’re involved with is falling between the cracks and has become a drain to your life force. Stop now and seriously consider what it might be.

The Fly is showing up to make it clear this situation is wasting your time and energy. Perhaps there’s something you believe about yourself or the world that’s been causing you trouble.

Your ability to take good care of yourself has been blocked by some unfinished business. You may be feeling hopeless and drained. Perhaps your ego is saying that change for the better is too hard and that you aren’t worth taking care of, so why bother? Nothing could be further from the truth. Look into Fly’s Circle and ask, “What kind of garbage am I feeding myself?”

  • Look for hidden malignancies in your thinking and eject them. If others are projecting harmful intentions at you, clear your blind spots and see the situation for what it is.
  • If you’ve been putting up with abuse from others, take courage and set some healthy boundaries. Whoever first told you that you weren’t worth taking care of was really just expressing how they felt about themselves. Don’t believe this lie, or you will fall back into destructive habits that have caused you no end of sorrow in the past. Avoid the trap by releasing agreements about needing any of that garbage anymore.
  • Make yourself a priority and choose to take care of yourself.
  • If you find yourself picking at old wounds, now is the time to decide you are not a receptacle for abuse. Use the Circle to find and excavate those toxic thoughts or attitudes and send them to the Light before they cause any more trouble. Then, visualize closing down the drains to your energy. If you do this successfully, your energy will soon return to normal.

Ravens are known as tricksters, though sometimes they’re just showing up to ask: “How are you tricking yourself?”

When you get too attached to an idea or goal, your ego can get enchanted by visions that somebody else holds for you. Perhaps others are thinking they can get you to do what they want by repeating the same message over and over again. Raven wants you to think for yourself. What’s really going on here? 

It would be wise to learn how to use your intuition to access common sense. Wake up from your trance by sorting out the truth from the fiction. See what happens when you stop investing in what others want and invest in yourself first. 

Ravens are also known to bestow gifts on those who make friends with them so paying attention to the concept of gifts, gifting and being gifted are part of her medicine. For example, if someone has given you a gift, how are you using it? Is it benefitting you or is it time to move it on?
Is it time to share a gift you have with others?
Have you given your gifts away too freely?

Raven says, “Clear sight and high self-esteem are the result of clear thinking.” Gaze into her Circle and ask to become aware of a special gift you have that you’ve been ignoring.

Are you being so envious of other people’s gifts that you’re not appreciating your own? There are some skills you’re really good at and others you are not. This is true for everyone. No one is better than you because of what they know or do. Learn to be patient with your shortcomings. 

Most importantly, Raven could be warning you that you need to recover core energy (personal power) as soon as possible. Perhaps someone has been thinking up some mischief for you to fall into by confusing you and messing with how you’re using your energy. If that’s the case, your ability to change or use your gifts properly is severely impaired. Look at the Circle and ask your Soul to help you clear the mix up and regain your power.
