Sacred Cow Tipping – Reclaiming Trust

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Everyone can make mistakes. However, if someone has abused your trust repeatedly, do you just keep trusting them? Do you follow their lead blindly without questioning their authority? Once you discover you’ve been misled, do you let them get away with it?

Three Sacred CowsThe Status Quo would like for you to do just that when it comes to the mismanagement and downright dishonesty that they have repeatedly perpetrated on our economy and our nation. After all, they are too big to fail, so that automatically excuses everything. Right?

Yes, the old guard is pretty fearful of the prospect of really going in a new direction. Yet, because of the progress that has been made by many dedicated hearts, the beast is losing it’s balance and getting pretty bossy in its attempts to regain control. One of the tactics it is likely to try is to push the use of this Sacred Cow:

“Excuse people in positions of authority, regardless of whether or not they have abused our trust.”

I suggest that we nip this one in the bud because without justice, we will never be able to reclaim trust.Intuitive Learning Circle And trust is what fuels a healthy economy.

You can start by cutting off the underlying Sacred Cows using the Soul Contract Circle with these affirmations:

“I release my agreement to trust the untrustworthy,”

and

“I release my agreement to put up with mismanagement.”

And

“I release any agreement I have to let them get away with it.”

Then, when you play today’s tipping  point game, imagine you can go back through the history of your ancestors. Think about all the traumatic experiences they went through on account of decisions that some unqualified crony made; wars, occupations, genocide, crusades, slavery, broken promises, lost jobs, abuse, mismanagement and so on. As the living heir of your family, exercise your authority and release all those agreements. See every last unjust appointment, treaty and decree burn away into nothingness. Then consciously make a new agreement to incorporate competence and honesty into a new direction.

Creating a Tipping Point for Economic Prosperity

What does bailout have in common with burnout?

The Wall Street Bailout has raised the ire of a lot of people and for good reason. Our priorities are upside down. The reason why those securities originally went bad is because people were not able to pay their mortgages. To solve the issue in the long term means that people need to have opportunities to take good care of themselves and their families. What makes simple sense is to improve their lot in life, so that they can fulfill their agreement to pay, thus keeping the banks and their securities solvent.Sacred Cow  The only thing that has been getting real attention in the media is the money. Today’s Sacred Cow is:

“It’s all about the money.”

What about sustaining self-respect and an individual’s ability to take care of themselves? So many people have hit the skids and yet, it’s the bankers we are supposed to help. It’s give, give, give, until there isn’t anything left. And now we’ve even gone way beyond that point.

A Microcosm of the Macrocosm

So what does this have to do with burnout? I have found that people in my practice who are sick often feel loath to do things to take care of themselves. They feel that they are somehow being selfish – that they shouldn’t be asking for anything extra. Often there is another member of the family whose needs are supposed to take precedence over theirs.“So and so has it so bad, how could I possibly ask for anything?”“I don’t have time to do that for myself, I’ve got to take care of thus and such.”And so they go without for long periods of time, sometimes their whole lives. Their minds are conditioned to accept their lot in life; however, their bodies and gut feelings are operating out of the reality of what’s really going on. The result is illness – depression, chronic fatigue, diabetes, you name it.

Finances Aren’t the Only Thing That Can Go Bankrupt

I often say to them, “You can’t give what you don’t have.” Yet somehow they keep expecting that they can and their health continues to suffer. Their bodies are literally burning out because their energy supply is bankrupt. They are running on empty. And so is our economy.Intuitive Learning Circle Look at the Soul Contract Circle to release the two agreements that cause the emotional and physical crash:“I release the agreement that taking good care of myself means that I am being selfish. I replace it with “It’s okay to invest in myself.”“I release the agreement that keeping the Status Quo going is more important than keeping myself going. I decide that “My needs are important.”

As you play today’s  tipping point game, ask yourself what your current needs really are. This will help you to turn your priorities right side up. I know that you know someone who could really use this game, after you play it yourself, consider passing it on to friends, family and or co-workers who are in the process of burning out.

Sacred Cow Tipping – Freedom of Information

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Sacred CowUp until this point we have been going after the Sacred Cows that set the general groundwork for the Status Quo to maintain its grip on us. Today, we will play a game that will be much more pinpointed towards breaking up this economic malaise we find ourselves in. The goal is to free up energy and release agendas that have worked against the common good. There are a lot of great ideas out there. Isn’t it interesting how often projects and ideas that support the common good are proclaimed “prohibitively expensive and therefore economically unviable” by the Status Quo?What if we were to demand that the old guard back up their claims with reliable data that comes from actual experience?Something tells me that there are warehouses filled with great, sustainabe ideas that got bought up and packed away for the sole purpose of keeping us trapped in the malaise.Intuitive Learning Circle Let’s start by tipping the Sacred Cow that holds up a lot of progress:

“Withhold ideas, information and technology that could benefit humanity and the planet.”

Play our tipping game and release any unconscious agreement you may be carrying that supports this Sacred Cow.

If you know someone who is having difficulty getting out the word about their great idea or technology, send them this game. They could get a lot out of it.

Sacred Cow – Taking Things Personally

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

One of the most stressful things about living under the old guard is the tired Sacred Cow that states:

Sacred Cow“You should conform to the beliefs of the status quo, and if you don’t there is something wrong with you.”

When someone doesn’t like something about you, it’s about him or her, not you. They are responding out of their own prejudices, likes and dislikes. If you take it personally, you are buying into their emotional paradigm on a certain level and letting them dictate how you are feeling.

Set yourself free by releasing your agreement to buy into their stuff.

Releasing the Old Paradigm of Emotional Control

Use the Sacred Contract Circle on your right to release any tendency to take things personally, especially in these circumstances:

  • RaccoonWhen your spouse or loved one doesn’t like what you’re doing
  • When a boss or family member criticizes you
  • When your receive a poor review or evaluation
  • When something you do doesn’t work
  • When someone takes advantage of you
  • When something of yours gets stolen
  • When someone tries to tell you what to do or how to do it.

As you go through today’s Sacred Cow Tipping Game, think about this question:

How would you like to see yourself from now on?

Sacred Cow Tipping – Keeping Your Eye on the Ball

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

What do wardrobe colors, obsessing about oversized backpacks and lunch menu items for two high profile gradeschoolers have in common? All three are symptomatic of this Sacred Cow -

“Come up with distractions and pretend that something is important, when clearly it isn’t.”Sacred Cow

Notice that each story has been suspiciously contrived, meant to irritate some of us and placate others.

Ever since I was a child in front of the black and white TV, I’ve been easily seduced by these kinds of irrelevancies. Either I thought it was cool and got sucked into the fantasy and glamour of it all, or I rebelled and got snotty and judgemental about chasing after the supposed “American Dream.”

What I’ve discovered is that it doesn’t really matter which reaction I choose. My thoughts, moods and state of mind are being controlled either way.

Recently, both my husband and I decided that it was better to avoid television and the mass media whenever possible for the sake of our sanity. It’s gotten so bad that even the pundits are reporting on how innane their own coverage is.

Don’t be fooled. This kind of confusion has a purpose. As long as you or I keep watching the circus, we have less energy and interest in what’s really going on.Intuitive Learning Circle

If you are as tired of being taken for a ride as I am, use this symbol to release the social contract that states:

“The media establishment is in charge of how I see things.”

And then play our Sacred Cow Tipping Game to handle distractions, confusing and irrelevant information.

Sacred Cow Tipping – The Devil’s Advocates

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

The Status Quo sure is is acting like an old curmudgeon with it’s arms folded in stubborn resistance to any form of change that doesn’t suit it’s own privileged agenda.

If we make one suggestion, it pooh-poohs the idea and ridicules our naiveté’.

If we have several ideas, it digs its heels into the ground like a stubborn mule.

If we have studied the situation and are audacious enough to create a plan, complete with procedures for accountability and new infrastructure – then the real trouble begins.

The Old Guard has rolled out its Sacred Triad of worn out dogma, officially dubbed the Sacred Cows of Procrastination.
Sacred Cows of ProcrastinationThey are in this order:
“Wait and See”
“Drag Your Feet”
and
“If Its New, It Could Never Work.”

To make a clean break from the past, certainly we will want to be deliberate and pay attention to what is working and what isn’t. Intuitive Learning Circle However, these nay-sayers would have us believe that what we propose to do is worse than what would happen if we stayed on our present trajectory. This pattern happened before in Iraq, as I recall. We were supposed to succeed only if we “stayed the course.”

Funny thing, once the people made a clear decision that they did not want to do that anymore, the situation in Iraq changed, and for the better I might add.

And here we are again. These “cows de resistance” have plopped themselves right in the middle of progress once more. How much longer can we afford to let this happen?

You may say, “They’re just being the devil’s advocate. It’s their job to make sure we don’t make mistakes.”

I say, “Its time to release our agreement to protect the devil and its advocates.”

Won’t you join me in playing our Sacred Cow Tipping Game?

Tip the whole lot of them before the inauguration!

Sacred Cow #6 – Scapegoating

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Sacred CowIt’s an important stage on our journey out of the financial quagmire and the Status Quo has called out “Old Reliable”, the Sacred Cow that always knows what to do when the going gets tough:

“Find a scapegoat to distract attention and defer responsibility.”

This age-old custom of sacrificing an individual, group or race is affectionately called “the blame game” and is responsible for entangling humanity in most of her Civil Wars. She has a very seductive quality that we have difficulty resisting.

RaccoonUse the Soul Contract Circle on your right to think back into your own past. Has there ever been a time in your experience when scapegoating has actually solved a problem for you?

Another interesting question to ask is: “How many times have I been the Scapegoat and what has that done to my ability to manifest?”

And finally, you might ask, “Am I being scapegoated right now?” The answer you get might surprise you.

In order for us to manifest the change in direction we desire, it is imperative that we keep the transition as smooth as possible. Indulging in scapegoating can feel good temporarily, however doing so has the potential to bring momentum to a halt and we just can’t afford that at this stage of the game.

You can disentangle yourself from this insidious tradition by releasing your personal, familial or racial agreement to participate in the scapegoating game. Tip our Sacred Cow instead to make sure that “Old Reliable” can’t use your energy to stop your progress.

Sacred Cow #5 – Eating Away at Self-Worth

Thursday, January 1st, 2009
Have you ever decided not to do something because you’ve imagined that what you have to offer doesn’t fit in with the common definition of what is acceptable?

Sacred Cow QuartetSomehow I doubt that you and I are the only ones who have had that experience. So I have decided to go after a very special herd of Sacred Cows.

These bovines sneak around behind the scenes supporting the premise that our worth and value is determined by something outside of us.

They eat away at our good ideas, intentions and hopes for the future.

Following Your Own Path

RaccoonLet’s take care of the supporting members of the herd first. Take a look at the Soul Contract Circle to your left and release your agreement to comply with the following Sacred Cows:

  • “It’s not good to be different.”
  • “Mother knows best.”
  • “Make your Papa proud of you”
  • “Nice guys finish last.”
  • “Nice girls are pushovers.”
  • “It’s foolhardy to have dreams.”

I could go on listing them for hours. To find their hoof prints all you have to do is look in the news, watch TV, talk to your friends and family or go to the store. They are literally everywhere.

It’s all part of an attempt to impose the will of the old guard on a subconscious level.:

“Approval from the outside world is more important than inner direction.”

I know that you know at least one other person that would really like to tip this Sacred Cow. Do us all a favor and drop them a line – playing only take 5-10 minutes and it’s totally free of charge.

Sacred Cow #4 – The Grab for Money

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

The Status Quo is like a Hydra and during the elections several of its heads were cut off. It has taken a blow by those who have woken up to what’s going on and started to speak out against it.

Stressed OutUnfortunately, the Hydra is able to grow back its heads and the grab for power and economic resources continues.

A vision of hope and freedom has visited us before countless times in the history books of our planet, only to have the sovereignty of the people violently squelched or put back to sleep in a bed of apathy. Will we let that happen again?

Our collective history has deep roots that can make it seem as though the obstacles are insurmountable and that we are doomed to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

However, I have an idea that could take the juice out of those roots. What if we changed our mindset and took money out of the picture for a moment?

Sacred CowWhat if we woke up to the idea that the Status Quo and it’s Sacred Cows are not solely powered by money and realised that they are more potently powered by the collective energy of human thoughts, emotions and beliefs?

What change might occur if we could look at the situation with such a drastically different perception?

Continuing the Experiment

You can start your own experiment by using the Soul Contract Circle to your right by stating:

Raccoon“I release the agreement that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is in any way out of my reach.”

Use today’s game to call up and release any collective, family or individual agreement that supports the assertions that:

“Life is all about pursuing a lot of money.”

Liberty is all about pursuing a lot of money.”

“Happiness is all about pursuing a lot of money.”

Imagine these agreements as ancient, out of date contracts. Set fire to them and watch them burn into nothingness. Tip the Cow for getting down to the truth of the matter.

Sacred Cow #3 – Turning Off the Drama

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

The economic waters are pretty turbulent lately. And if the Status Quo has it’s way you’ll completely buy into the fear. You read the current headlines and ask yourself, “Is it really possible that we are are ultimately heading in a new direction towards greater peace and prosperity?”

You may be putting a lot of pressure on yourself to keep going, pushing, doing something – anything. However, before you work yourself into a frenzy, it may be more helpful to take some time and allow yourself to stabilize and gain your bearings.

Time to Take a Chill Pill

One way to explain what’s happening is to think of the process of change as a bowl of Jell-O. If you keep stirring it up, it won’t form properly. So it’s important to learn how to chill a little, so to speak. Times of stress require a commitment to take breaks and get your mind off of work, regularly.

Sacred CowWith that idea in mind, let’s release the collective contract behind some of the stress we’re experiencing via Wall Street, the media and the politicians. Today’s Sacred Cow is:

“Keep the fear going by fueling it with speculation, uncertainty and psychodrama.”

When our minds and bodies are kept under continual stress, we are like the Jell-o that won’t set. We are more susceptible to illness, paranoia, misinformation, fantasies and accidents. Tipping this Sacred Cow will calm down the external noise a bit. Then finding some time to rest and still your mind will be a tremendous help in being able to see the situation from a new perspective.
