Countdown: 2 Days Remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

We are almost complete with our 30 day experiment in tipping cows. Thanks to you for participating. It truly has been a month of taking positive, pro-active action.

In order to make the most of our last two games, I want to be sure that you have handled all the major cows that might sabotage or slow you down, so let’s take a look at this one:

“Use self-pity to exploit others and bring progress to a halt.”

Pity and self-pity is like the crazy glue of the psyche. It takes our good intentions and turns them against us in the bat of an eye.

Remove the big, hairy Sacred Cow that is blocking us from the light.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Unleashing Potential

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Countdown: 3 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

We are told that we use only a fraction of our brain capacity and that the vast majority of our DNA strands have been dormant since the beginnings of recorded history.

In my work with the circles we’re using in our tipping game, I know that it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve seen people go through vast change and exponential growth once they decide to activate their true potential and release their agreement to stay in the box.

So I have to ask, what if our reduced capacity has something to do with an ancient contract that was made in another age, one that we cannot even remember? Is it possible that we somehow agreed to limit ourselves and compromise our free will?

As an experiment, I would like to suggest that we try on that possible scenario and use our game to reach all the back to tip the original Sacred Cow that says:

“Limit the potential of the people so that they can be easily dominated.”

Sacred Cow Tipping - Developing Compassion

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Countdown - 5 Days remaining of 30 days to Creating a Change in Direction

Nobody said that changing directions would be easy. As a result of tipping all these Sacred Cows, you are probably more aware of the distrust and negativity around you than you were when you started.

Believe it or not, your new awareness is a good thing because it means that you have become more conscious of things that have the potential to pull you back into the muck and the mire. You notice when someone is acting as if they have no power. You understand more about what’s going on when they choose to blame you for something or try to take advantage of you. They are reacting unconsciously in the way that they have been taught to do. Just as you have done, and will probably do again at some point. The idea here isn’t to be perfect. The idea is to develop compassion.

Compassion is not about feeling sorry for someone and it certainly isn’t about placing oneself above others out of some kind of spiritual superiority.

Compassion is the acknowlegement of what is true and understanding the difficulty there is in following what is true, because you’ve been there.

Having compassion for someone who is acting out of integrity does not mean that what they are doing is okay. It means that you recognize and understand how that could be you under different circumstances.

One of the most damaging expectations we have as human beings is the belief that we will be punished if we aren’t perfect. It has taught us to be so hard on ourselves - can’t make a mistake, can’t let down our guards for even one minute. This lack of compassion for ourselves leads us to this Sacred Cow:

“Condition the people to be critical of themselves and others.”

Tip this Cow and see if you can begin to feel more balanced in your situation.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Family Identity

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Countdown: 6 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

Our Sacred Cow today is primarily genetic in nature. As part of the Human Family we have all had experiences that are handed down through our families of origin that form a kind of “family identity”.

Most of us have already released our direct agreement with this Sacred Cow:

“Annihilate those who think or believe differently.”

However, we may still be holding the various family identities that were formed on account of acts of intolerance and war in the past. For example, I know that in my family history, there was a period of time where we were literally thrown out of Europe because of our religious beliefs. It was a traumatic event that left it’s mark on how the family thought of itself and how it felt it should act as a result. After more than four centuries, I still find myself identifying with the imprint of the “undesirable outsider”, and that is only one identity out of many.

As you play today’s game, see if you can tap into the various ancestral identities and attitudes that are still affecting you and release your agreement with them. In that way, not only will you detach from the Sacred Cow; you will also detach from the unconscious behaviors that support it.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Carte Blanche

Friday, November 24th, 2006

Countdown: 7 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

Doesn’t it seem as though there must be some hidden code somewhere that says it’s okay for officials and people in trusted positions to take resources earmarked for the public good and use them for their own purposes? Somehow, they think they can get away with it, carte blanche.

The law of cause and effect prohibits this kind of a result. The only way it could possibly happen with such regularity is if we have a collective agreement to:

  • Allow such things as the misappropriation of funds and resources.
  • Put up with repeated broken treaties, agreements and pacts.
  • Tolerate the chronic abuse of natural and man-made law.
  • Have citizen’s pay the karmic price for an official’s actions.
  • Make customer’s bail out dishonest or irresponsible business behavior.

I don’t think our change in direction would be complete without tipping this Sacred Cow:

“The Status Quo has complete freedom to act as they wish or thinks best.”

Play our game and take back more of your power to say, “no”.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Thanks, But No Thanks

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

Countdown: 8 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

In America, we are taught that being “nice” is the same as being co-dependent. In my practice, I find that the number one cause of stress came from people not being able to say “no’ and doing things for other people without asking. Whether it’s a business, friend, family or romantic relationship, the story is nearly always the same.

Interestingly enough, once the agreement was released and the person seriously decided to stop, either by saying “no” or by letting go of their need to fix the other person or the situation, their physical, mental and emotional health immediately improved, almost like magic.

Think about disagreements that happen during family get-togethers. Ninety percent of the time it’s because someone is pushing too far into someone else’s business.

Where does this urge to poke into other people’s privacy come from? It’s a learned agreement from Society and if you doubt it, look at what we’re doing in Iraq.

Perhaps its time to release our collective, personal and familial agreement with this Sacred Cow:

“Interfere in other people’s business without their permission.”

Thanks for playing.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Release from Prison

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

Countdown: 9 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

In order to firmly establish ourselves in the direction of peace and prosperity, our job will be much easier if we are unfettered by obligations that chain us to the past. One of the most effective ways that the Status Quo keeps from moving forward is through the negative use of debt. If we still owe our allegiance to outmoded and detrimental processes, it will be much more difficult to initiate and fully develop progressive models of society that include diversity, personal sovereignty and equal opportunity.

It’s easy to understand how financial debt can limit our potential and luckily, people don’t get thrown in debtor’s prison anymore; however, there are other kinds of prisons. Indebtedness to old ways of being and doing affects us on a spiritual, mental, emotional and collective level as well.

Some examples of how we might still be chained to debts from the past:

  • Feeling guilt or shame because of the actions of our ancestors (slavery, genocide, and criminal activity).
  • Carrying the burden of responsibility for what others do or have done.
  • Limiting one’s ability to prosper because others are poor.
  • Subordinating the ability to create to those in charge.
  • Waiting for permission to be granted from the Status Quo before doing what is in our best interests.
  • Going to war because of our obligation to our country.
  • Suffering under the stigma of caste or class.
  • Feeling obligated to continue certain beliefs, attitudes or professions.
  • Being suicidal over money.

For all the reasons above and many others, let’s tip this Sacred Cow:

“Use debt to imprison the people.”

Sacred Cow Tipping - Respect the Earth

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Countdown: 10 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

It is almost as if the Family Tree of Humanity is rooted in the fields of war, unrest and devastation and is unaware that there are also fields of prosperity, cooperation and peace that we could be nurtured in.

Perhaps it’s because many of us buy into the rancor and shortsightedness of this Sacred Cow:

“Disrespect the Earth and those that inhabit her.”

If the collective agreement with that statement could be released, perhaps Humanity could choose to be replanted in common ground. A place that is free from disrespect and exploitation is a place where miracles can occur much more easily.

Play our tipping game, and release your agreement to abide by this Sacred Cow.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Re-establishing Connection

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Countdown: 11 Days remaining of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

Changing direction and holding the course requires trust. Unless we learn how to trust each other and ourselves we won’t be able to connect and align our goals. If we can’t align our goals, chaos will continue.

Therefore it is time to address the Sacred Cow behind propaganda, grudges, curses and witchhunts:

“Distort the minds of the people, so that they distrust themselves and react to their brothers and sisters with suspicion and fear.”

Play the Sacred Cow Tipping game.

This is a particularly important juncture on your journey. Without trust, it isn’t possible to break the pattern of prejudice. I suggest you play the game while thinking of someone that you are particularly distrustful of.

Sacred Cow Tipping - Stability

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Day 17 of 30 Days to Creating a Change in Direction

The waters may have been quite turbulent for you the last few days. If you haven’t given up you instinctively know that somehow you are heading in a new direction towards peace and prosperity. Many other people have participated in this game, both within the U.S. and all around the world.

The next stage in your journey is almost ready to unfold. In the days to come, you will be continuing to connect and move forward more easily with others; yet in order for that to happen smoothly, it will help to take some time and allow yourself to stabilize before moving on.

One way to explain what’s happening is to think of this process as a bowl of Jell-O. You have combined the ingredients, heated them together and poured them into the mold. Now it’s time to allow the Jell-O to set. If you keep stirring it up, it won’t form properly. It’s time to chill a little, so to speak.

With that idea in mind, let’s release the collective contract behind some of the stress we’re experiencing via the media and the politicians. Today’s Sacred Cow is:

“Keep the fear going by fueling it with speculation, uncertainty and psychodrama.”

When our minds and bodies are kept under continual stress, we are like the Jell-o that won’t set. We’re more susceptible to illness, misinformation, fantasies and accidents. Tipping this Sacred Cow will calm down the external noise a bit. Then finding some time to rest and still your mind will be a tremendous help.

For those of you who are looking for additional support in calming down and quieting the mind, we have three games in an E-book called “Taming the Bear”, which is available for free to anyone who signs up for our monthly newsletter.
